Afternoon gentlemen.

Yep, heck of a ball game. At the half I was thinking KC had a very slim chance. I'll bet most Eagles fans felt pretty damn good at halftime, too.

Second half was a whole new ball game. KC made the adjustments they needed to make.

I thought it was over at the half. Didn't think Mahomes' ankle would make it through the second half.
Wonder how much lidocaine (or the like) they injected in to Mahomes' ankle during half-time?

Good Valentine's Day gents. Better not forget your sweetie today iffn ya know what's good for ya.

Spunky and I have a 32 year tradition of having pizza on this day. Best pizza in town was always Pizzafaro which was a family owned place but it finally closed a few years ago so now it's one of the local chains or Oreganos.

Glad to see romance isn't dead.

What about making your own?

Our local favorite was a Covid victim. Closed never to reopen. So, we decided to make our own. Takes a few days prep, but totally worth it. Get the Italian flour from Publix with yeast....create starter and set yeast aside to rise. You can roll the risen dough into balls and store them in bags in the fridge. Get top notch ingredients or make your ow pizza sauce. Top it the way YOU want, flavor the crust the way YOU want. Labor of Love becuase we both know the big chains make lousy pizza.

By "local chains" I don't mean big chains. I would just as soon have frozen than that crapola.

Some of the local chains are places that started with one store and now may have a few more spread around the city since they were good enough to have a following.

I was sitting around minding my own business last Thursday...my daughter came over and spoke to my wife about possible Valentines Day plans...

Daughter: we're thinking about going out to a nice restaurant, but need a baby sitter...
Wife: we don't have any plans, so we can babysit
(me, to myself: wait...what?)
Daughter: hubby not sure where he'd like to go...
(me, to myself: I can tell him)
Wife: I'd just as soon stay home and avoid the crowds
(me, to myself: so she wants me to cook her something)
Daughter: I saw an ad for Choice boneless ribeye steaks for $6.99/lb
(me, to myself: hmm...good price)
Wife: that's a great idea, ribeyes, baked potatoes, and salad
Daughter: I have to work, but I should be off by 5:30pm
Wife: great, WE'LL have dinner ready at 5:45pm...that OK with you, Dad?
(me, to myself: F'me, not gonna be a quiet relaxed Valentine's Day dinner as I imagined, gotta shop and cook for the group now) Yes Dear...

Happy Valentines Day, everbody!!!

Shpo Highlights.

Gave a ride to a combo cop/fireman. Said the fireman gig isn't anything like it was 10 years ago. Few fires and endless Narcan incidents. On his cop side, people are getting dumber and dummer and dummerer. Some claim to not know running from the cops is illegal.

And like you'd guess, he said Honesty goes a long way.

Mice thrice. Its a northern third of the country kind of thing. Due do winter, mice try to find warm places. If they get into your garage, they then like to crawl into cars and warm themselves against recently warmed car engines. They then chew
on wires, make nests and then store nuts and corn in there. Three times it happened in the last week.

The good news is, on many car insurance policies, repairs are sometimes covered by car insurance under Comprehensive of Other Than Collision coverages.

That happened to me years ago with a cat. At the time I had only an open carport. Started the car and POOF, THUMP-THUMP. Guess it was in the fan shroud. Grabbed a 22 pistol and shot it in the head to stop the suffering.

HHD dudes.

Ram, ya get lucky after the pizza?

CA got me one last time, the mudda fuggas... but it was only $136 I had to send them.

They can officially lick my bunghole now. Flapper

Fed wants $600. Got a pin number from the IRS, we'll see if the tax preparer is able to file electronically with that. If not, then I'll have to mail the return. Dude said he'd let me know if it was accepted by end of day tomorrow.

The mofos who tried to file my shiznit prolly thought I was getting a return. HA!!

Publix sells fresh, risen pizza dough at its bakery that we use the same day. Good stuff.

My wife has a good job and can buy whatever jewelry she wants (which isn't much). So, I just "approve" most times and try to get "credit" for buying it for her. I learned the hard way 25 years ago when I didn't go with her to buy the diamond stud earrings she wanted- on her own. Later, my best friend and I were hanging out at my house and he asked where my wife was. I told him. He told me straight up me that letting her go alone was an "armature move." He was right. Now I always go with...

3 1/2 to 4 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon sugar
1 envelope instant dry yeast
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 1/2 cups water, 110 degrees F
2 tablespoons olive oil

Pizza dough is easy to make but I have no complaints about grocery store dough.

Chicago deep dish dough is a completely different recipe and I think wars may have started over the debate.

Breck is 30 minutes away. Arapahoe 10 minutes. Vail and Beaver Creek are on the other side of Vail Pass so that introduces weather issues.
