Video chat with the boy almost always fun. Today’s was wonderful.

Air fryer chicken and fresh corn on the cob- it was still on the stalk early Saturday morning.

Sorry to hear about the ac issues, MACS. That's no fun especially in the summer.

It's a balmy 104 today so I sprayed the exterior of the house and the block wall for bugs and then sprayed the lawn with stuff to slow its growth. Less mowing when it's 100+degrees is a win in my book.

Gotta like the Chewy commercials my two favorites: The dog on the couch breaking the guys chops pouncing:
V...A....S...E.

Mr Marbles the cat and reading of the will:

I always loved that old man.

After the Cat gets the beach house and says to Todd: you got the train set Todd. Applause

Congrats on the win Ram

Sunday Sunday Sunday

Tried to fix wife's car - she took off that passenger side mirror on a trashcan last week. I ordered a new mirror. Just some cheap chinese replacement for $60. Had the boy help me, taught him how to take the door panels off to get at the back side of the mirror. Slid the new one in, got it positioned and tightened down. Went to plug it in and the plugs don't match. They sent me the more expensive mirror with a heating element. Hers don't have heated mirrors. Requested return and tried to reorder the one I need - out of stock. Guess they were out and just sent me the more expensive one in its place. I dunno. Found another seller with the right part so I ordered it again. She's not happy I'm leaving her car apart until the parts come in but door panels don't like being removed/installed so it's just gotta wait.

Slackers?

Up at 4 and out by 5. Gots 4 of the 5 miler in before the sun peeked over the mountain. Grabbed a cigar and cold drink on the patio and then took the '65 out for a romp around the hood.

It's 88 going to 107 so I see a pool layabout in my future. Maybe a beer run to restock the IPA?

Boy's birthday coming up. He won't give us a list or ideas of stuff he wants. I've already bought a few things but not much so this morning we drove up to Chicago to go to the Lego store. I told him he could pick out anything he wanted. I was prepared to spend up to $400. He said he didn't want any Lego sets. I almost bought one for myself, they remade/updated an old pirate set from my childhood. But I need a new bike more than I need another Lego set.

Quick back story: I live in a small town. Population around 20k people. This story happened about a month or so ago,

I hopped on the bike on a Saturday to run to the pharmacy. No big deal, I ride downtown a few times a week for short errands such as this. I was passing parked cars on the right side of the road. A person in one of the cars that was parked opened her driver door as I was passing. I ran into the door and was ejected off my bike and smashed my head on the pavement (I wasn't wearing a helmet). I was transported via ambulance to two hospitals (vague memory of this) since my brain shut down. As a result I ended up with a concussion, cracked skull, brain injury. Spent 3 days and nights in the ICU until I convinced them that I'm able to return home.

For a couple weeks, oddly, my eyesight was better without prescription glasses then it was previously. Dr said it was because of the brain swelling was pushing on the back of the eyeballs and changing the focal length to my eyes. That's another story for another time.

Out of the blue I got a letter in the mail the other day from some lawyer in Rhode Island. Apparently they represent the woman who owns the car and her insurance company. I called them today and they wanted a taped recording of my explanation of events and asked if I had a lawyer for the accident. WTF?

My reply: "Why do you need this? It's all in the police report." I don't have a lawyer looking into it I didn't give a verbal statement, I told them to review the police report - end of story. Accidents happen.

I didn't tell them my thoughts just simply said to refer to the police report.
Do I have medical bills from it? Yes. After insurance I think I owe the hospital about $500.
Do I have a lawyer for personal injury? Nope. I'm not looking to sue anyone.

After the phone call I'm wondering if I should have legal representation. I'm not looking for a fight. Why does the insurance company and some lawyer want a recorded audio from me and my medical records. Sounds suspicious.

Thanks, I got it.

Few months away fall will turn to winter. Hopefully we don't get much snow this winter and you don't have to make 3 tracks in the snow. I'm not a fan of winter. I'll take about a continuous snow cover of 6 to 8 " of snow once a week on the weekend.

That blizzard and noreaster crap that drops a couple feet of snow a day every couple of weeks... Frank that $****.

I'm not the litigious type, either Bucky... but you spent days in a hospital, had a severe concussion, and don't know the long term effects of that.

At the very least, pay me what I am out of pocket. At best figure out what a fair price is for a severe concussion and pay me that, too. Good grief.

Your medical insurer may refuse to pay for treatment due to an accident caused by another. As you've no doubt been told, consult a lawyer, please.
