Got caught accidentally stealing a car.
Lost my boss's credit card.
Spent an hour inside a car in which the driver was murdered two years ago- complete with a seatbelt with cuts through it and some dried blood inside.

Don't know how first responders, cops, firemen etc. deal with stuff like this regularly.

Can see how it doesn't take too much to get a level of PTSD.

Not sure I want to go back tomorrow, but will.

I hate my car. Went in for an oil change. Finding out I need $1700 with of stuff done. Then told to l have two bad tires, brought in to tire shop since they are under warranty. Only 2 will be replaced at no cost, the other 2 are on me so another $400 for a total of $2100. Ugh expensive oil change.

Lol, compartmentalization (and booze).

I couldn't eat BBQ chicken for a couple weeks after being first on- scene to a house fire where people didn't get out in time (don't beat the fire department getting there, dummy!), but would normally not have any trouble grabbing lunch after leaving a gnarly crime scene or accident.

Obviously the Compartmentalization isn’t working so well and avoided the booze.
God bless you, Stogie.

Was in a gift shop in Newport, RI. Saw a plaque I had to get for my sister.

"I smile because you are my sister. I laugh because there is nothing you can do about it."

She laffed... then hung it in her kitchen.

I don't have first hand knowledge but have been told that the smell of burnt up bodies is something you never forget.

Big transition week for my parents. Yesterday, my father was enrolled into a nursing home at least temporarily. This afternoon, mom is having a dual pacemaker installed and the old one removed.

The best case scenario is the surgery goes as planned, she is back home tonight, and she follows all the post up instructors for the week of recovery and is fully back on her feet.

The optimistic outcome for dad is he uses this time in the nursing home to get physical therapy, get and stay motivated to get in shape, and is able to return home to mom. Based on the last number of years, this is an unlikely outcome.

I openly welcome your prayers for them, and for my sister and I as we attempt to navigate this mess.

In the end I guess, I’m praying for God’s Will to be done, and for us to have patience, calm, and clarity.

Peace be with you, Brothers.

Morning gents

Well the trip to Biloxi was really expensive this time . Some phugging thief stole my cell phone and got all my info. I had to cut the phone off and get a new one . I being a dumbass did not have my Lock Screen on. So he was able to access everything. He even got on Facebook and was messaging his friends. I hate phugging thief’s.

If you want help with the Medicare mess, LMK. My wife has managed four or five skilled care facilities like the one your father is probably in right now. Prayers completed.

My heart goes out to you 8Track...hoping for the best possible outcomes for Mom and Dad.

I'm helping my sister through her end of years health crises...luckily we found a residential care facility that has a limit of 6 residents and two very patient, competent and thoughtful employee/caregivers. The owner of the facility is an LVN and has helped advise us and monitor my sister's condition. They have experience in hospice care so this will be Big Sister's last home and she's happy with it. The monthly cost is a little less than what she paid at the assisted living facility that she left. Fortunately, she has a defined benefit pension and lifetime healthcare insurance with Kaiser from her past employment and life savings to deal with all existing and hopefully, future costs.

The positive side of all this is that I am now closer to my sister than we have been all of our lives to this point; she and I were never close. I have learned that she led a remarkable and active life. We have had many conversations that we probably wouldn't have had...

jeez 8, that's an awful lot to deal with, even just what either parent is going through is a heavy weight.

Not real up on the praying thing but how's about I send all I can muster up in your direction? Sit down so's it won't knock you over...

Good Thursday Morning to All! It's an overcast 61° on the way to 77° later today.

Nurse Gene is taking care of my wife after her rotator cuff muscle and tendon repair surgery yesterday,

The roof is done, just a little cleanup to go, two dump trailers full of the old roofing materials to be picked up.

Dog walk started out nice. Then the rain came. Then it stopped. Then it started again.

One wet dog and one wet doggy daddy. Fortunately, neither one of us is made of sugar... so we didn't melt.
