Abrignac was staying overnight about 90 miles south of me. So I drove down to meet up with him again.

We found a nearby state park, herfed at a picnic table, and then gorged on 10lbs. of crawfish he boiled the day before and kept on ice for our meet up.

Great time with Anthony once again. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Xfinity, I think they finally fixed it. I keep explain what the issue is, but they send out the wrong person or want me to reset my router, and test my equipment over the phone. I had to yell at them that I'm more knowledgeable on this than they are. If multiple people on the block are having the same issue and the same tech had been here at all our houses obviously it's not our equipment. It's on the pole and they needed to replace the main hub for the area. Which is what I been telling them for 2 weeks. This month better end up being free.

Good day on da water. I caught a buncha Vermilion Snapper (kept 5) and lost 2 big mother humpers I never got to see. They broke my 50 lb line. I'm guessing either amberjack, cobia or a huge model red snapper.

Maybe they were small fishes and you just need to learn how to tie a better knot.

San Diego Jam knot... one of the best knots out there. And the break was not at the knot. Out west you let the fish run and get tired. Here you can't do that because the water is only 80-120 feet deep in most places and they run right to the reef or the wreck and break your line that way.

Learned my lesson. Button down the drag and hope they can't break your line vs let them run and chew it up on a reef.

Good Friday Morning to All! It's 60° on the way to 85° today.

Yesterday, I got my truck battery charged enough to get it started. I called my Chevrolet dealer service manager got me in late yesterday. Apparently there is a multiplex computer that handles things like the daytime running lights that can screw up and run down the battery. They reprogramed it and fingers crossed, it'll start this morning.

Taking the wife to her first post-op checkup this morning.

Thought I found a truck online to go check out. Called them to confirm it was in stock. Get there, it's not there oh but wait we have 37 other new trucks on the lot!

I don't want any of your 37 trucks over $55k. I don't even want to pay the $43k for the one I drove out here to look at. I 100% wasn't going to buy, but wanted to at least get hard numbers in my head for an out the door price.

Still holding out hope that maybe when tax refund checks dry up so will the consumer appetite to pay over value. Already seeing a few places listing under msrp - this truck was one of them. A leftover new 22 Silverado with 78 miles and more than enough options for my tastes (I'd be happy with just a tow package, AC, and cruise control) $5k under msrp.

My tenure at Wally World is coming to a close. I milked all I could from them and accepted a manuf engineer position today at ModuForm. Gonna work in the furniture business.

https://moduform.com/

My IT degree might go to waste and just be a bullet item on a resume. I don't regret going to back to school for it as it kept my mind working during the COVID shutdown.

Congrats..!!

The IT degree may not go to waste. You can step into the CAD software manager position if they don't have one. One of my titles. Keeping software and hardware up to date and stuff. If the IT dept is trying to do it take it away from them. They prolly have engineers using gaming computers...

The guy that does most of their CAD work is retiring. Currently he only works part time... Kinda consultant work as needed sort of thing. They use Autodesk Inventor which I've not used but I have some experience with Solid Works. I may be able to fill that role as time goes by.

They farm out their IT network stuff to a contract company. If they have a problem they call them. In fact during one of my face to face interviews with the HR person, she had a new printer that she needed to be set up in her office so she had to call place a call for the IT guy to drive over to get it installed. I told her that I could probably rectify the situation in about 20 minutes (install drivers simple $hit). Maybe, as time goes by, I will be the in house "help desk" IT guy too.

It's a small family owned company (current owner/CEO is 2nd generation after his passed it down before he died) and people wear many hats. The owner of the company has roots in WI so part of my interview with him was shooting the $hit about WI stuff.

Fantastic! Once an engineer... LOL.

IMO, long term, engineering work will be more interesting than IT and be slightly more respected/supported/funded by management.
