Good Saturday Morning to All! It's a dripping 48° on the way to 52° today no breeze yet, but there is a wind advisory for local lakes. The weather should make golfing more of a challenge I suppose.

Looks like it got a little blustery at the Masters yesterday. Some trees down but nobody hurt...... well except McIlroy.

Left someone else in charge of getting a ham for tomorrow. Didn't look at what they bought until just now... FAIL! 5 lb ham? That will barely leave anything for leftovers.

Buzzed down to the grocery store and the hams were pretty well picked over. Gabbed a small boneless smoked 4 lb-er to add to the mix. Menu: ham, mashed garlic taters, some veggies, dinner rolls. Pretty basic American Easter Sunday.

I miss Dairy Queen. They are sparsely located out here. Nearest one is about 20 min drive away. Next nearest one about 20 minute drive after that.

Good Easter Sunday Afternoon to All! It's cloudy 57° on the way to 64° today. Overnight rain cleared the pollen temporarily and it is gorgeous outside.

It should be a good day for golfers.

That range would be fun too, but only have a little over a month until my retired director's annual outing. Gotta get dialed in somewhat before then

Drove to NY March 30/31. First day was easy breezy... second day was driving in NJ and NY. So what took me 8 hours day 1 took me 11 hours day 2. 1,016 miles.

Yesterday drove from NY to NC. Once again, NY and NJ blew chunks. Today drove from NC to FL, easy breezy.

Spent some time with my sister and her family, visited the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, then went to RI for a one night stay. Took the ferry from Long Island to New London and back. Drove by the old neighborhood... not much is different... and ate some local food.

Took back some Iggy's clam cake mix with me.

Good to hear you made it back home safe MACS.

Years ago, went to visit a friend in Jersey via driving from MA to New Brunswick. The trek from MA to Jersey should only be like a 4 hr drive but it felt like 24 hrs (I didn't plan it right and hit stop and go traffic on the Jersey Turnpike). Hated it. Franking driving through Jersey sucks donkey d!cks

A few years later visited I a friend in NYC. This time I took the commuter train out of Hartford into Grand Central Station so I didn't have to deal with traffic into the city.

It was an awesome experience for a Midwestern boy. I don't remember much of the details when I was there (the city never sleeps and we were probably legally drunk for 72 hours straight with maybe 8 hrs passed out time mixed in here and there) but we had a blast. I do remember going all the way to the top of the Empire State Building observatory... awesome view. I then wanted to go to the top of the Chrysler Building and pet one of the gargoyles. Didn't happen.

Ate at some nice places, saw some nice tourist stuff, hailed a cab a few times while bar hopping (an experience on its own)... riding the subway in NY and forgetting when to get off and then trying to to get back to home base was another adventure all on it's own.

One thing is tattooed to my brain is the the stench of the city and the constant crowds of people. That reinforced my lack of desire to live in a big city.

Bucky, my sister lives in Center Moriches, which is halfway down the Island from NYC. I took the train from Ronkonkoma station (closest to her house) to Penn station and then the subway to South Ferry, which is right by the ferry to the statue. Easy as pie.

Then when we were ready to go home after walking around for a while, I went into the closest subway entrance and found the one to Penn station. Then hopped the train back to Ronkonkoma.

It's pretty intuitive, and signs everywhere to tell you what you need to know.

Drove to the ferry station, which is at the other end of the island, and got off in New London. Quick drive to RI from there, but instead of taking I95, we took Route 1 and drove back roads through the countryside.

Welcome back to Monday fellas.

Beautiful day today, sunny and warm so knocked out a few chores.

While changing the engine oils on the things I realized I'm overdue on trans fluid and filter for wife's car. She's about to go on a 1k mile trip so I ordered the things after calling two places and getting told $275 for the trans fluid and filters. I'll do it myself for $75. $200 is not worth 2-3 hours of my time.

Lawnmower I typically do every 40 hours of runtime so next change shouldn't be for another 20 hours but I noticed the filter was leaking in the shed so I took it in the garage and pulled the drain pan - no oil. Hopefully that was just a leak over the winter and not something that was there all last summer. Guess I'll find out if it throws a rod.

Still need to do go kart, pitbike, and generators but I don't feel like going back to the store for oil. Time to pickup sticks and start a fire.

Tank came with us. That's why we drove. He's a great traveler, although he's not much of a fan sitting in the back seat all day, he lays there and doesn't complain.

My sister and my niece wanted to meet him. They're both dog lovers. He got to see the deer in my sister's back yard and when I let him out he went right for them. Of course they ran... Angel

My sister watched him when we went to the Statue of Liberty, but we took him on the ferry to RI, too.

I'd wager this dog has been in more states now than a lot of people. CA, AZ, NM, TX, LA, AL, MS, FL, GA, SC, NC, VA, MD, DE, NJ, NY, CT and RI.

Hey 500 people'
Nothing new or exciting except for settling my diminished value claim form my crash a year ago. Finally. Car Fax sez my vehicle suffered a $3,900 loss in value despite repairs. I got $6k!

Swam 1,200 yards today, up from 1,000 per swim.

Nothing else to report ...
