I was on the USS Ogden LPD-5 for a few years. I was promoted to chief petty officer on that ship. It was named after that City in Utah... and is now a reef somewhere off Hawaii.

Getting moving. Breakfast next, mid morning chat with the boy, then Arsenal v. Liverpool.
Maybe a cigar in the afternoon.

Welp... easy peasy taxes this year. No state, just federal... only income was 1099 for military and CalPers plus interest on bank accounts... minus standard deduction... and I'ze rollin' in the dinero, beotches... $286 return.

Didn't hardly pay squat, so I get squat in return. Sounds fair to me.

TurboTax... $39.

We still gotta do a CA filing. Wife got a bonus paid in 2023 but it covered 2022 when we partially lived in Cali so it had to be prorated between Texas and California.

The Federal Government is about as franking inept and assinine as it gets.

Filed the return. Rejected, need pin #. I send it again with the pin they sent me last year. Rejected need new pin #.

Just sent it again with the new pin # I got from their website. I swear if it gets rejected again... I'm gonna lose my shit.

No jesting here. It will work out. Try (understanding I would be pushed to the edge of my patience) to remain calm as you navigate the crucible.

Yeah. In the grand scheme of things it is incredibly unimportant. It ain't like I'm hurting for $286.

It's the frustration of trying to do something, doing everything correctly... and still getting nowhere.

He'd get a faster and better response from DMV in Florida. The guy in the Tampa area.

About 9 AM I realized it was gonna be a tough day. That’s the first time I got stuck in the snow in Montana. Finally made to Idaho after getting 2 more times. Amazing how much difference it inch makes. But I went from ice covered Interstate to freshly plowed and deiced interstate.

In 12 hours I’ve gone about 465 but should be shut down in about 10 mins.

Florida DMV is a million times easier to deal with than CA DMV. Appointments or walk ins... it's just a breeze.

I notified CA DMV that I no longer reside in that state and my truck is registered in FL. As far as I am concerned they can ingest a satchel of richards.

Thanks...remember fellas...those DMV types issuing licenses don't get paid overtime. So, show up 15 minutes before closing (in case they have autolock doors) they have to serve everyone in their office.

I mean if you absolutely HAVE to go into the office. 98.2% of the time you can do almost everything with them on their websites.

Monday, funday. Gonna be 73 and sunny so I'mma go smack the little white ball around.

The rest of the week could be rain since Cali is sending some of that atmospheric river stuff this way. Prolly going to screw up the Phoenix Open which starts Thursday. We usually go Friday but I'm glad the tickets I bought are for "any day" because the forecast shows 40-75% chance until Saturday.
