My box that was touring Chicago but scanned in at Gary last night was scanned out of Gary at 0530 and scanned in at Bedford Park at 0830.

Just a brief visit to Indiana.

Estimated delivery updated to "on its way"

It baffles my mind how absolutely inept delivery services are. USPS is the worst.

You're not alone. It's especially bad for anything shipped in a padded envelope, I think they get stuck in the PO equipment. It even happens to Amazion packages except they appear to get fixed faster. I had a Amazion package shipped from their Appling, GA facility, just a few miles away in Georgia, that was sent to Ohio then back to Nort Augusta the next day and delivered.

It seems to happen frequently with thr lower tier shipping options. I can see leaving the box at one location for another less laden truck vs the priority mail but why ship it to different places every day? Makes no sense.

I rarely have issues with priority mail or ups ground. But ups surepost and usps ground advantage are all but guaranteed to bounce around.

The ALYX machine collects two units of red blood cells instead of one during a single donation. This type of donation allows a donor to double the impact of their gift of life.

I be cool, hell... Cool

Did that about a month ago (and they gave me a free ticket to the Phoenix Open worth $75) but I only got water and a pack of pretzels after. Glare

Goddamnit USPS.

My T52s left Gary again this afternoon, just scanned in at Bedford Park. Again. 4th time. That box has to have picked up a loose sticker barcode from another package.

I checked my informed delivery dashboard. I have 4 packages inbound. Now they ALL say moving through network delivery date unknown.

Starting the day a little earlier today. A round trip of Green Bay to Sheboygan. Round trip estimate of two hours.

Like it.

My body doesn’t like me doing these 2.5 days, but it is only hor four weeks.

Mornin Ya'll... suppose to warm up to almost 60 the next couple days...

I've been rounding up building materials for my woodshop re-roof... So far I've wrapped up $1600.00 in materials I've been purchasing off local Marketplace.
40 sheets of 5/8" OSB at $15.00 a sheet (which after renting a U-haul to haul them home) come up to around $22,00 a sheet where the big box stores cheapest prices were $27.00 a sheet. Still Saved!!!

But really the shingles Owens Corning "Duration" shingles are around $137.00 a square
I picked up 12 square of 3 different color bundles "Durations" for $400.00 and picking up another 7 square with 2 bundles of Ridge and Hip caps for $450.00 Quarry Gray... I already have a box and a half of coil nailes and half a box of #8 pneumatic nails for sheeting, but the drip edge and the Synthetic roof underlayment are costly!!!

Now comes the part of contacting my buddy's for a build brigade. I know a couple guys will show up "Possibly"? I helped them do a couple roof's over the past few years.. but even then not even sure... what I do know around these parts... People get Scarce when theirs work to be done... Almost 60 and all these years of trade labor, seems I've always come up short when it comes to me needing to collect on my side of the Trade... d'oh! d'oh! Brick wall Brick wall Herfing

Oh Well, I'm still on Target to have the woodshop up and operations by April 15th Tax Deadline Day!!!

Your body is going to be very happy about not working nights when you finally get to day shift. Money aside, it is better for you physically and mentally.

If the muh fuggers hadn't switched me back to nights I probably would have worked 2 more years.

My only concern is losing the week on week off schedule I've been blessed with for 8 years. But on the other hand too much time off led to no sense of urgency to complete chores or projects.

It’s interesting how management, at times, has no clue about their staff and what makes them tick as well as what is the last thing you should do to them.

Shawn - did you ever tell your supervisor that you absolutely HATED working nights and making you do so accelerated your retirement? If so, what was his / her reaction?

Having worked in a similar capacity as Shawn I can definitely relate. As far as the agency I worked for they didn’t give a chit. As far as they were concerned if didn’t like it you were free to quit. Since the administration from the Sheriff down they had “paid their dues” so to even mention it you’d be considered a whiner and your career would come to a screeching halt.

Yes. Captain and Lieutenant both agreed I would be on days, on the side of the week I wanted to work... then we got a new captain. He was an arrogant prick when I met him as a sergeant, worse as a lieutenant, and again as a captain.

He said I was going to night shift... knowing I didn't want to. So I went out on FMLA for 2 months while I filed all my retirement paperwork. Went back to work long enough to say goodbye to everyone and retired.

Did he care? Nope... didn't bother him at all. Someone else just filled in when I left. But the Lord works in mysterious ways. The lieutenant I was working for retired, too. Frying pan

Long day today. Broke my all time best driving distance. Logged 776.4 miles today in 10 hours and 57 minutes. Drove from Walcott, IA to Rapid City, SD. My clock expired as I pulled into the truck stop. I’m tired and my butt hurts. Goodnight.

Laid down. Within 5 minutes starting coughing. Within 30 minutes it became non-stop. After about an hour I go in the truck stop to get some cough medicine. They don’t have any. So now I’m in a bed in the ER at Monument Hospital in Grand Rapids, SD.

Happy February folks. It's 55/74 today and rain is predicted to start this evening from an "atmospheric river" California is sending us. We can always use the wet.
