No. Went inshore fishing with another CA transplant. He has a center console. Targeted sheepshead and had no luck. Switched to reds in the marshes and no luck there, either.

3d printing seems cool and stuff but I have no practical application for it.

20 years ago when I had a Bridgeport and a lathe in my little shop it would've been nice for prototypes but I've not machined anything since around 08-09.

I don't have a practical application either. We use one at work to make small prototypes and hand out to customers.

The only practical application I can (weakly justify) for having one at home is to play with, print some random stuff, and to expose my kids on doing 3D prints. It's a hobby that they could potentially add to a resume if they want to get into it and doing some CAD stuff. Who knows.

I'd love to have a lathe and an end mill to play with but I don't have place to put them. If I wanted to do something on that, I have a friend a couple towns away that has all that stuff in a machine shop barn behind his house plus a bunch of welding equipment. The guy is a genius when it comes to anything mechanical. Even though he has modern technology, he still does many drawings by hand. He's probably the only person I know that knows how a slide rule works.

Fishing is a great thing to do. Even a bad day fishing is still relaxing. I love doing it but, sadly, eating fish is not my thing. Fish tastes like fish which is yucky to my taste buds. I catch and release unless someone I'm fishing with will eat it.

The Sun burned off the clouds today. Weather folks are calling for low 30's and mild wind.

My daughter passed her road driving test today. Another teen getting over a hurdle of life and can legally operate a vehicle. YIKES!

Have coaxed a large, loose Rottweiler into our garage and closed the door.
Called the city, give them the information. They are sending an officer.
Twenty minutes later, they call back. ‘Are you comfortable with loading up the dog and taking it to the Humane Society?’

Let’s see.
It is a 100lb+ dog, dragging a retractable leash (imo) mega-dumb.
It is so undisciplined, it broke away from his person and did not come back to them.
It has a large link, chain (can’t see if it is a choke chain or not).

No, I’m not comfortable with that.

An hour later……. Grrr.

I’m not sure if he is trapped in the garage, or we are trapped in our house.

So could I.

Called back. Understand you have to triage. People and the things they do and I agree they should be the priority. That said, we need to get on with our day. We obviously are trying to do the right thing. We live in such a screwed up world, I just don’t want to get sued. Being an officer or animal control can’t come, can I just let it go?

I can’t tell you what to do. You have to decide.

Could I get a more governmental answer?

Can see my future. Let this dog go, and later when we are walking our dog today, one or all of us get bit in the azzz.

Walked the dog, went to the gym, made myself a protein shake and prepped some chicken thighs for the grill later. Momma wanted Teriyaki, so hers are marinating... I wanted my bbq rub, so the rest have been olive oiled and rubbed with my bbq rub. I shall prolly grill them around 2-ish while I have a cigar in da garage.

When I was a dam operator we lived in San Gabriel Canyon where idiot dog owners would dump off dogs instead of taking them to a shelter. The coyotes would usually run them down and kill them. Occasionally they would show up at our house. We got the same run around from animal control so I just said I'll take care of it myself and hung up. Most were starving, one had a broken leg and some were not friendly, they ended up hurried in the canyon.

I didn't like that solution but I had kids and our one animals to think about and we defiantly had rabies infections in that area.

There was one time animal control was on the ball and reacted immediately. I caught a bat in my shirt tails and they wanted it right then, on a Sunday no less. It turned out to have rabies.

I just sat in a sunbeam. Our 6 weeks of darkness is over.

Have to climb up on the mountain a bit to get any direct sunshine for those 6 weeks starting about mid December. I didn't this yr. So that sun felt great.

On the flat we only get a dappling of sun during those 6 weeks.

Bout time to start outside chores/spring prep. We got a lot of gardening stuff in the mail yesterday. We'll start our seeds indoors, under grow lights, in two weeks.

8Track- If you're waiting on them you're backing up

Drafter- Bout a 1/4 to 1/8 inch.

Hope all you guys have a good weekend.

Nowadays printers are inexpensive. They sell them cheap and make money on the selling the ink. Ditch the printer and get a new one. All in one ink jet printer (printer, scanner, copy, fax) ones prolly only costs a hunerd or hunerd two bucks.

While you're at it buy me a couple heads of Romaine lettuce (it doesn't pick itself). Thinking of grilling up some chicken and make a grilled chicken Cesar salad. Or maybe some tacos... either way they both require some lettuce.

New printer is operational.

I did run by an Asian grocery and got onions, scallions, and some shabu shabu beef so I can make gyudon this week for a lunch. I did not get any romaine though.

For Christmas we ought our daughter folks an HP multifunction with those Smart Tank large ink reservoirs. Didn't think they needed to scan multiple sheets at a time so it does only one sheet at a time. But, it's wireless printing so everyone can print from their mobil devices.

Theodore - Iffin' HD doesn't get the Romaine for you, I might be able to help but won't be going to the grocery store till tomorrow or Monday, can you wait till then? Anxious

Felled six trees this afternoon. Only almost died twice. :) Not really, but it was pretty sketchy a couple times.

Nothing makes you feel more alive than almost dying.

I used to climb mountains to feel alive, now I dodge trees.

Over and out.

Pair of officers showed up. The dog growled at me. He bared his teach and barked at them. Third officer showed up with an Animal Control truck. They had a few different plans, non of them great. They nominated the officer with the least amount of experIence- she was maybe 5 feet tall and about 110 pounds with all the gear on and cute!

They decided to call in one more time to find out if anyone is missing dog- they just got the call. The guy walked up our street, had to let him and his kid walk through the house- didn’t love that to get into the garage.

The Rotty is a two year old boy named Reggie. Reggie destroyed a welcome mat in the garage, but no other damage. Writing it off as alls well that ends well.

I have a Ring doorbell... and the app is always lighting up about loose dogs and cats here and there and everywhere.

WTF is with people not taking care of their animals?? I know where Tank is ALL the time. I can walk him off leash and he doesn't go far. If we're in the garage and I go inside for a second... he's sitting at the door when I go back out... not roaming the neighborhood.

And don't get me started on F'n a-holes who don't pick up their dog's sh*t. We've got dog poop bag stations all over the place. If you don't like scooping crap, don't have a dog. D*cks.

Reggie and his family are probably thankful that you took him in for a brief stay. Gimme your addy and I'll have Amazon drop off a new welcome mat. Sometimes karma can be a bitch but I think that for this episode it works in your favor.

I appreciate the thought. Went grocery shopping and I'm all good with romaine lettuce. Then an elder friend called me and asked if I wanted to go grocery shopping.

Me: Nope, I'm just getting home from the store.... errr... (then, in my mind, it snapped that he might need help loading and unloading the groceries)
Me: Sure, lets go for a grocery ride.

Mental note:
Even if you don't need groceries, don't go if you are hungry. While walking through the produce area something caught my eye... salted peanuts in the shell. I don't need 5 lbs of salted peanuts in the shell. I looked and looked for a 1 lb bag but I couldn't find them so I settled for a 5 lb bag. I figure 3 lbs will end up feeding the birds and squirrels.

Seriously who can eat 5 lbs of peanuts?

Now that I see the exit, it's harder and harder to swallow the bullchit. Got into it with two doctors and the night supervisor overnight yesterday.

I don't have his specific addy although I've been there a couple times. He's about a 15 min dive from my parent's house. I can send someone over to egg his house and toilet paper his trees or send a new mat... if only I had his specific address.

Well damn…..

On the other hand we’re gonna have to postpone a trip my way. Got a couple things working. The one I think you know about is a definite just trying to knock down a firm date, but Valentine’s Day is looking like a strong possibility

Then I’ve got a secret squirrel iron in the fire that’s going to potentially wreck my heretofore planned days off for the foreseeable future but the reward will be well worth it. I won’t know for sure about that one for an a couple of weeks.

Well if that doesn’t beat it all.

I’m up in Belgrade, MT. I’ve got a pickup at noon tomorrow. A few minutes ago I got that loving feeling so I was going to throw some pants and a jacket on and walk inside to see a man about a dog. Looks like a few inches of snow has hit the ground while I’ve been in my rig watching TV.

Hopefully things will clear up here quickly. After I load tomorrow I’ve got to get down to Ogden, UT for 8 AM Monday to deliver.

Edit: looked deeper from inside the cab looking down. In reality it’s only about 1/2 - 3/4” deep. But it’s falling pretty steadily.
