Cover is trashed. It's a white, fiberglass boat, so there is really only 2 cushions that can get beat down by the weather. Without the cover the water will flow to the back where the drains are located.

Got it fixed about an hour ahead of the next bout of rain, which has already started. Should be okay for now.

Yeah? Well... my old trailer jack would disagree with that statement. It broke because the cover collected water.

I will eventually get another cover, probably before summer, but I'm leaving it uncovered when it rains to allow for drainage, though.

Thought that was common knowledge.

Same with my camper.

Didn't tarp it since it is parked on a pretty steep angle and it's always so damn windy at the shop where I'm keeping it that there's no way I'd be able to get a tarp on without a crew. Found a big window leak, had been minor before. Guess I'll be pulling windows when spring comes.

After zoo trio that was pretty fun for wife and I (kid couldn't care less), I spent some more diagnostic time with wife's car.

Looks like thermostat failed. Not opening completely at temp, or delayed opening. Water pump seems fine, circulates well along heater core bypass circuit. Lower rad hose (thermostat end) is staying fairly cool to touch. Does warm up, but at temp of 200 in heater core line the lower hose is reading 120.

Bad experiences with aftermarket tstats, so gonna get an oem tomorrow when dealer opens.

The rain is coming down in buckets. I just got a flash flood alert on my phone. Supposed to be like this until Late Monday.

Fixed things just in time, it seems.fog

Strange thing is, governor moonbeam wants to build a railway system. Smart people want him to build desalinization plants. Saudi Arabia and UAE are deserts. They have desalinization plants that make water AND power.

Ol' Jerry could solve two of SoCal's problems instead of creating a new one. Dipsh*t.

Pulled the thermostat, dumped it in a pot of boiling water. Couldn't get it to open.

Hopefully this is it.

Good idea but a pain to store balls when you launch boa (unless you keep boat at home). Have used a couple of pvc pieces with T's attached on each end, slightly bent to create a hump.

Like anyone in this state is going to go for a nuke desal plant.

You do realize that not a single application to the NRC for a new license to operate has been approved since TMI2 melted down almost 40 years ago? IIRC, there have only been like 6 submitted in that time too.

I've done similar. 5-way fitting in the center of each hump, so it can have a support post and a "spine" to the "ribs" on either side.

Mornin 🐑.
Ya know, I have thought about a boat for a long time.

The Chronicle of the Drowned MACS Boat is helping me keep that interest in check. Never would have thought rainfall could kill a trailer jack. How random is that? In California?

Spine is great idea but if you have enough bend on your hump you can do without the center post.......and dont glue anything.

filed my taxes this morning. Finally got the last of the documents I was waiting on from investments and stuff.

Whopping $200 return.

Think I spent more than $200 worth of my time getting this stuff together and filling out the forms.

The center posts kind of depend on the style / layout of the boat. Agreed, no glue.
