Made another 2 lbs of beef jerky. That stuff is really, really good when ya do it yourself.

Teriyaki, soy sauce, worcestershire sauce, garlic, cayenne, honey and red pepper flakes. So damn good.

That sound goods. I love me some jerky but I have never made it. I might have to try it. I don't have a dehydrator thingy though. Could also use it to make dried fruit and stuff too I would guess. Might be something to explore this winter.

Hmm, remember when there was a jerky pass? It was fun to try / see different meats flavored in so many different ways. Been more than a few years, probably around 2014 or 2015.

Hey, just noticed the “404”. I used to work in a record store with the address being 404 Piikoi Street.

Good Saturday Afternoon to All! Had an American Rimfire Association match at our local range. Everyone was PO/whining to me, not because I beat them, I was fifth I think, but because my wife beat them all by more than 200 points. LOL LOL LOL They should have listened to my recommendations as my wife did.

Ah, I see you found the thread started by WeaponX (Kevin). I was gonna toss his name out there.
Truly one of the best guys we ever had. Taxidermist from Nebraska, I believe. Think he did a couple big projects, like museum stuff...?

Did a trade or two with him, part of his included a couple different flavored elk and other amazing jerky.

He biked all over the place, not sure if it was why he stopped posting but I seem to recall he really franked up his leg something awful.

Nice job for the wife. =d>

As an outsider, pissing her off might be not the best thing to do. If so, juke and jag while running. A moving target is harder to hit.

Kansas vs the Sooners on TV. Looks like Kansas is gonna win. They just got a TD in the last minute. Okies have under a minute to get TD.

I dunno... I had 2+ lbs of top round, sliced about 1/4 inch thick. Didn't weigh it afterward.

Bucky... I got a cheap Air Fryer at Costco. Gourmia or some such name... has a dehydrator feature. Was $40.

Dehydrators with 6+ racks are like $100+. Might get one just for the convenience of having that much room.

Says 150 for 8 hours in their recipe book. I did that the first time and it was too long. 4 hours is plenty.

Franking went to Walmart to grab some Halloween candy. M&M, Snickers, Twix and stuff variety packs. $22 for bag of 3 lbs of candy. Damn, even candy is expensive nowadays.

Also, they already have Christmas stuff out. WTF?

Probly 5-6 lbs for 2lbs finished.

I need to make another batch it's been a while. I have a couple hundred in gift cards to a local meat shpo.

My first few batches were rock hard impossible to chew cause I followed directions. Cut back on the time but unless you have perfectly uniform slices and fat content, it's inconsistent going by time.

Now I do it just by feel. After 2-3 hours I start feeling them checking their bend and looking at the fibers when I bend em. Once it looks and feels right those strips come out and get bagged to cool. The residual moisture steams the bag/meat and rehydrates slightly helps prevent hard edges.

Gonna be a long night at work. I have zero patients so just sitting here in case something comes up. And then I get to call someone in to take it.

Guess I can get a few weeks ahead on some paperwork and clean the unit.

Marinating some beef with a recipe that I grabbed off the internet. Gonna try to make some jerky in the oven tomorrow. I have some baking racks to put on a couple cookie sheets . Not the best set up but l might as well try it and see how it works out. Three or four hrs at 175 F. No expectations but worth a try.

Spent the day prepping the lawn for winter grass. I am a few weeks late but the summer grass was looking awesome and life just got in the way. Even with the right tools, my arse got kicked and I am a sore and tired mofo. I filled ten 33-gallon trash bags with lawn schwag. Tomorrow, seed goes down, the sprinklers get adjusted and then I wait for the germination...

And now I'm getting sick. Started getting cold, figured it was because I've not been running around. Asked the girls who are always cold they said it's not cold in here.

Temp 99.5. Probably picked up something at the airports or airplanes. Wife n kid were sick the whole time I was gone so they shouldn't still be contagious but that's possible too. Explains why I've slept 8+ hours and needed my alarm clock to wake up the past few days.

Guess I'm gonna burn more PTO and call off the next 2 nights. Get the same amount of attendance points for one shift or two consecutive shifts but 3 requires a drs return to work note so I'll get through the last 8 hours tonight.

The Mrs is going to give it a try. There’s a food truck at Ten Sleep Brewing in Wyoming that does a good job. Also the local natives do a fund raising once or twice each summer at the VFW. We never miss that. Applause

Guessing it was more likely a heart attack, and he slid under the water. 10:years of heavy drinking and ten years of heavy drug use to eff up a heart pretty quick.

Woke up and made a quick Costco trip for my hearing aids. Got to go back tomorrow morning.

Hoping for tile to be delivered and installed in the master by the end of the week.Pray Looks great so far.

Picked the new color to paint the bathroom cabinets so I'll get my painter out her this week for a quotes. Spray the doors and cabinets: 4 hours max- probably like $400-500 plus paint.

Need to get a construction cleaning crew in here for the bathroom and all the construction dust all over the house. Probably like 2 people for like 4-6 hours. Also need to get the carpets cleaned too from all the dust.

Sure will be good to have the job done and our home clean again!

Today's highlight is football: Jax v. Pittsburgh.
