I saw him play that on the “Against the Wind” tour. He was in a harness hanging off the front of our section in the balcony, right over the seats on the floor. So cool

Still one of my favorite concerts…. And I went to ALOT..

I was so used to hitch hiking that one time I got it running and drove it to school and when class was over I thumbed home.

Hindsight is 20/20 but imagine if you had kept that car. These days some rich azz buyer would pay you an obscene amount of money for it.

And yes, I realize there would have been costs and sweat to move it around from home to home or storage facilities but I’mma sure you would have recovered those expenses and then some.

No muscle cars, I had a 1952 MG TD I bought from a family guy who was restoring the car, but didn't have the time. It was in pieces, the short block was done and he had run new wires, only a few were terminated in an unlabeled socket under the dash. The wires, all white insulation, had no identification tags. I had to figure out and finish the wiring and assemble the engine, then install the body parts, but I got it running.

I had a problem getting the engine to run, I had not adjusted the lifter arms. I took it to a local foreign car garage, the owner/mechanic figured it out, liked what I had done, and offered me a job.

I drove the crap out of that car on mountain roads, glad I survived.

I did, part-time while I was going to Citrus College. The owner, an immigrant from Scotland, wanted me to work full-time and split all the jobs, but he always struggled to write paychecks on time. You couldn't just work on cars, you had to deal with customers calling to see if their car was done and wanting to get their car back for less $$$$ than the parts cost.Brick wall Brick wall Brick wall

Probably why I took a job as a dam operator living in the mountains without many neighbors, and, I was about to get married so I had to think responsibly, at least somewhat.

According to my old boss, whose 6x great grandfather was a Scottish seaman, Scots are tight-azz people…and judging how my boss paid everyone in the company, he certainly fit that description. d'oh!

Damn it! Amazon package says it was delivered but I can't find it. Picture of the delivery is not my house. Front stairs and siding in the background doesn't look familiar. Should I contact Celtic to get this resolved?

Fkn amazon delivered a box to me that was obviously tore the hell up and retaped a number of times. It was a rolling bar cart. 3 of the screws going into the wood were broke out. I got one to go back in, but had to drill out the other 2 and use drywall anchors to get the screws tight.

Contacted amazon and they said send it back... I was like F you, asspipes I already fixed it!

Posted a bad review and they sent me a message that they wouldn't post it. Absolute bullshit.

Amazon sent me an empty envelope, the tape on the seal was still there, it wasn't sealed at Amazon. Of course, they wanted the item returned, so I sent them the empty envelope. The UPS store said I was not the only one. A few days later they said I needed to return the item or they would charge me. I had to speak with an agent to get it resolved.

I know someone who worked in an Amazon shipping center. They had to quit, couldn't stand the smell of weed and managers didn't care.

….. yesterday, we made our first Amazon purchase is five or six months.

Limit my #of purchases from them. Based on those last few posts, I should have waited longer.

I normally don't have issues with Amazon. I use them quite frequently and rarely have an issue. order stuff for my folks in WI and folks locally who are technology challenged. In this isolated issue, I'll place blame on the delivery person. I've had a couple issues in the past - delivered to the wrong house, or someone saw the package and sitting on the stoop and snatched it. Amazon credited my account and sent me a replacement within a couple days. I have no issues with Amazon.

Winter is coming. The package was a window exhaust fan and a smoke eater so, when needed, I can smoke inside and minimize the smoke sent. Oddly enough, some people don't like the smell of cigars.

If I was king for a day, I'd declare that all tuperware type of food storage thingies must have a set standard of bottoms and lids so they all mate.
Next, I declare that smoking cigars inside is allowed as long as there is adequate ventilation.
Thirdly, all homes should have natural plants - not talking like plants that make ball bearings and stuff. Natural foliage plants... I like plants.
Fourthly (is that a word?), give Jonsie back his money he claims to be stolen, stop stalking him, and give him a keyboard that doesn't have CAPITOL LETTERS.

Then I'd take a nap.

I also use Amazon quite a bit. Usually no issues, but sending me a damaged item? That was left at the door looking like it did? Hell, in their own picture you can see how badly the box is damaged!

My problems with Amazon have been minimal.

I second your plans for King for a Day, especially the keyboard. I would add banishment of the BeGees and all their recordings.

Waz up?

Bought a new bed last week. Posturepedic Hybrid with an electric base and remote control. Expensive, but it is already most certainly the most comfortable bed I can remember. No hip, back or shoulder pain at night and upon wake up for neither my wife nor myself! So f'n comfortable that I just might lay in bed all day watching TV as it is now past 1pm...

82/64 2% chance of rain. Need a cold front to come trough to drop temps into 70's and RH down, and a bit of frontal rain. Not coming until weekend, however. Hasn't rained since I can remember. Been adding water to the pool.

Waiting on shower glass guy to measure for the new shower glass and for the floor tile to arrive, and hatefully arrive and be installed finished by the end of of next week. Next comes painting the cabinets and resurfacing the counter tops Looks great!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

I have a queen bed in the guest room like that, Robert. It's a Serta iComfort, adjustable base, remote control, massage... the massage doesn't really massage anything. The bed just vibrates.

Our new bedroom set is king, no adjustable base but a newer version of the Serta iComfort. I like it a lot.

So I adopted a cat from a neighbor. Great cat. Warm and loving, loves to be pet and stuff. With that said, I swear he's a reincarnated Dracula dog. Its franking midnight. I'm finishing up stuff and getting ready for bed and he's bringing me one of his ball thingies with a jingle bell in it. Carries it in his mouth and drops at my feet and stares at me. He's probably been sleeping all day so the night time is his day time.

I wonder what he does when the house is sleeping or when us humans are working. If he had thumbs I'd give him some chores to do or something.

When I die, and if there are reincarnations, I'd like to come back as a cat or dog living with someone who likes cats and dogs.

The Sun is rising here in MA. Put on the news to see the weather. Learned that they found that POS dude that shot up Lewiston, Maine, He was found dead with a self inflicted gun shot.

Kill 18 people, injure 13 others then shoot yourself? Sadly he did the sequence of events backwards.

Morning gents. Nice 61/84 on tap. Gotta shine up the '65 Vette for car show this afternoon. Buddy has a car he wants to sell so we will get there early for a good spot. I generally keep my classic cars for many years but he buys one, drives it for a few months, then sells it and looks for something else that interests him.

Yesterday was Weather Transition Day. 63 degrees (12 degrees above normal) in the morning. We lost 30 degrees in the next 12 hours. 35 degrees, wind chill (wc) making it feel like 30. High today- 35.

Overnight lows the next 3 or 4 days in the mid 20s.

Don't like it when Fall ends prior to Halloween.

When we first got married, my wife wanted a dog. I was pushing for a chinchilla. She stood fast for a dog and we've been on the greyhound road ever since. Lucky too, as we later learned chinchillas are nocturnal.

There's your solution, Bucky. Get a chinchilla for your cat toplay with at night.

Agreed but if you're determined to off yourself, why kill 18+ innocent people first? Makes no sense to me. If you're gonna do it, seek help. If that doesn't work, kill yourself first before you go and kill others. The guy did it totally backwards.

On a completely unrelated topic, thinking tacos for lunch and then chicken Cesar salad for supper. I'll have to do a grocery store run. Need some romaine lettuce.

Packers vs Vikings tomorrow. Gonna have to pick a VPN location somewhere in the Midwest since they wont be streaming the game here in MA.

Never had a chinchilla. Friend of mine back in college had a couple of ferrets. They were pretty cool but also very mischievous in hording and hiding things.

Wouldn't mind trying a ferret but I'm not familiar with raising them. For now Jasper the cat (I didn't name him, I would have picked out a cooler name like Nitschke) works out just fine. Plus the cat might think a chinchilla or ferret is a rat or something and would mistakenly kill it after he's done playing with it. On positive note, he grew up in a house with a dog so he's dog compatible if that happens in the future.

While running errands, drove past Tractor Supply and there was a Backyard Butchers freezer truck that was selling meat from the truck. $39 for 40 ribeyes caught my eye. Worth a stop to check out.

First sign of fail was the dude I talked to came across as a salesman or like watching the shopping network in real life (don't blame him, that's his job). Tried to sell me $400 of various beef cuts and if I buy that, they will toss in various with cuts of chicken and pork for no extra charge.. Vacuum packed in single servings. The presentation looked yummy but yeah, no... I don't have freezer space to store 40 lbs of meat.

Ribeyes looked good so I bought the $39 for 40 ribeyes. Got home and opened the box and they are like 1/4" thick... fail. They will make nice steak sandwiches or diced up for chili or stew but too thin to for a steak dinner.

Live and learn.

Made another 2 lbs of beef jerky. That stuff is really, really good when ya do it yourself.

Teriyaki, soy sauce, worcestershire sauce, garlic, cayenne, honey and red pepper flakes. So damn good.
