Gotta have a good luck totem on the boat. Pineapple on a stick in a rod holder always works for me.
If it doesn't bring the fish you can garnish your drinks with it on the way home. You DO have rum on your boat right?

Well, good luck anyway.
I'm not sure beer and cigars will channel the blessings of the fish gods though.
Do leave the bananas at home at the least.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Drafter.

Bananas are considered bad luck because of banana spiders. Back in the day crewmembers would end up dead on boats carrying bananas because those spiders are poisonous. So... bananas were equated with bad luck.

I'm not really superstitious. Fact is... fishing ain't easy or everyone would be good at it, and there are so many factors that influence the bite it's hard to stay on top of all of them. Water temp, tide, bait, availability of food, timing, weather, etc...

We save the rum for the ride home. Usually fish our way in to about 50 miles then pull everything up and run. Here we usually have a following sea going home and its a fairly smooth ride at 22 - 24 knots. Never spill a drop!

Yeah, just trying to keep this one moving. Not really a rum snob.
Sailor Jerry, Mt. Gay, Kraken, whatever the crew provides.
More of a pain killer for the ride home.

^^UConn women got beat by Mississippi State last night.

I thought it might happen... after 112 wins, or something, they were due for a loss.

111 and it was in overtime. They won the last 4 final 4's and graduated 3 all Americans off last years team and those three were the 1,2, and 3 picks in the WNBA draft. It was no surprise that he won the coach of the year award. Last year they beat Miss. State 98-38 in the tournament and the Miss. State coach asked for and got advice from the Uconn coach. I suppose he could be called smug, but he's actually good guy and treats the girls well (other than the insults about their play). It's not unusual to see former players at big games and from time to time they show up for Christmas at his house. He is single digits from winning his 1,000th game and next year looks to be even better with only one starter graduating and four new players arriving. 2 transfers in will be eligible next year- one of them being 6'6"Azura Stevens who transferred from Duke and will probably be a pre-season all American. They should go all the way next year and win their 12th NCAA crown.

Happy Sunday fellas and dudes.

All out of cigars and rum. Got 12 bottles of Yuengling left.

Heading north to ATL when wife makes up her mind on which 5 pairs of clothes have to go in our carry-on bag for our 2 day trip.

When I got married we took a motorcycle trip to Niagra Falls. I told wife to pack her clothes ahead of time while I was at work(I work nights). When I got home that night she had 4 suitcases packed(for a 5 day trip on a motorcycle), one of which was half filled with shoes. I asked her what all that was for, and how was I supposed to pack all that on the Bike. She wanted to know "Well where are the clothes your bringing?" I went and got my Duffle bag that contained 4 changes of clothes(no shoes, they were on my feet), and my sweats for sleeping in. She then wanted to know, "Well what if they get dirty?"I then unzipped a side pocket on the bag and showed her my roll of quarters. She had that "HUH" look on her face and asked, "What's that for?"........I explained if I ran out of clothes I'm sure we can find a laundromat.
Well, we got her down to two Bags,(still needed 3pairs of shoes????) Barely got them all tied onto bike and off we went. Had a great trip(she only wore 2 of the pairs of shoes)...........and we never needed that roll of quarters. LOL LOL

Just walked a few laps around Turner Field in Atlanta after food and beers at the bbq joint across the street.

Buncha weirdos in tents with signs by the main gate. Said they're unhappy about something.

Zoo tomorrow with thunderstorms in forecast. Bought some cheap ponchos.
