There's another Jewish deli in Palm Springs that makes an absolutely bomb liverwurst and egg salad sandwich. I forget its name, but I can find my way there.
The stuff in the local supermarkets is substandard and unfulfilling; Farmer John, Morrell, Dietz and Watson and Jones Dairy Farm come to mind. I'll have to see where I can get Boars Head...they make tasty pastrami, corned beef and dry salami...stands to reason their liverwurst is good...
Flag on the play! Liverwurst is gross.
I will support pastrami, corned beef, and salami though.
A nice grilled ham and cheese sammich is another quick and yummy eatin' sandwich. I add some
dill pickles slices too. Those sweet things, often known as bread and butter pickles, suck.
There is a rather good regional sub sandwich place here in MA called D'Angelo's that make a yummy steak and cheese, green peppers and onions (its called the #9). I'd add an additional demand of hot pepper relish. It was (kinda) a fast food place. They made to order. We had two of them in town until a few years back but sadly they have been pushed out of my area and the closest one is probably an hour away now.
Other than Subway, the local sub shops are local establishments. It's not a bad thing but I miss my #9 with hots.
