Slept until like 1pm today.
Waiting for workers to show up to remove the master bedroom shower glass so we can begin gutting and re-tiling.
Looking forward to MNF...

I went fishing today. Smoked 2 cigars and caught a lot of fish.

I kept 9 of them. Momma cleaned them, I vacuum sealed them and they are in da freezer.

Still raining on and off most of the past couple days. It's supposed to stop over night then have no rain the rest of the week. Whew. It's been a wet summer here in north central MA. Hopefully all this precipitation this summer gets it out of it's system and we have very little snow this winter.

Lunch tomorrow:
- Couple hot dogs, diced onions, hot peppers. No ketchup, mustard or mayo.

Some of the trees around the wetlands, marshes, swamps started changing but the foliage is still pretty green in most of my area. Colors will probably this month-ish or so Vermont & New Hampshire will look like a painting from Bob Ross. Then work it's way down to to my area. Colors will prolly peak in my area at the end of October (guessing).

Bow hunting season for deer starts at the end of this month or beginning of October (I don't know the exact dates). A handful of guys I work with are preparing, checking out their tree stands and fixing them up for the season. I'm not a hunter but I'll gladly accept venison donations or buy some off of them if they want to sell some meat. When it comes to venison, I'm not too proud to beg for it. You do the hunting, you kill it, I'll pay to have it butchered but I get a cut of the winnings.

I think the rotation is first archery, then shotgun, then "primitive firearms" (single shot, muzzle loading). No deer hunting in MA on Sundays and (pretty sure) there is no modern rifle deer hunting in MA.

I think I got randomly made an example out of for the public. You would have thought I had guns in the waistband like Yosemite Sam. Eventually I starting feeling more bad for his dignity than mine. Like some of his TSA buddies hazed him and triggered the search alarm and were off somewhere laughing.

That really sucks, you would be 100% correct to tell them to FO, but you would 100% not make your flight, and maybe no other flight, ever.

He told me what he was going to have to do and how he was going to touch me and he offered that we could go to a private room. I said not needed and we can just do it right here. Of course I knew in advance that all this was a waste and he would find absolutely nothing.

Wore pretty much the exact same outfit today and no TSA issues.

We avoid wearing any shoes, bags, or backpacks we use at the range, but because my wife had about three dozen sugarfree protein bars that got us "special attention" and we no longer qualified for the expidited boarding line. d'oh!

OTOH, maybe someone from this forum is working for the TSA. horse

Spent yesterday demolishing the two water intruded "frameless" shower walls caused by faulty installation 15 years ago. Hard work.

No silicone caulk in the drilled holes in the wood structure beneath the towel or on the screws. No water tight gasket or washer either.

Tile store and contractor are coming tomorrow morning to measure and give us a quote.

Hope I budgeted properly...

Hopefully there is no water damage in the walls.

I've done 2 bathroom remodels - my first house and my former mother-in-laws house. Come to think of it, it was 4 in total - 2 at my first house and 2 at former MIL. They only entailed tearing up linoleum and baseboard, removing the toilets, vanities and sinks then putting down cement board and ceramic tiles and replacing the vanities, sinks, baseboards and reinstalling the toilets. I didn't do any tub or shower replacements. The faucets and stuff, yes but haven't torn out a shower or tub.

Of course that was decades ago when I was younger and I had all the tools. Probably wouldn't take on that DYI stuff at my age now. Too old for that $hit.

A half dozen years back I was flying out of Milwaukee after visiting the family. I packed probably 5 or more lbs of a variety of cheese curds, smoked cheese, cheese varieties that I can't get in MA. While going though the security check I was pulled aside by TSA and asked if I had cheese in my carry on.

Me: Duh, it's WI. I'm taking some cheese home.
Him: The sensors and screening equipment can't tell the difference between cheese or plastic explosives. My apologies, I have to check you and your luggage further.

My bags were opened and inspected. My carry on and my hands and coat were wiped down and analyzed for bomb residue. I was 100% compliant. I felt bad for the guy. Imagine how many times a day that they had/have to do that to people flying out of WI because they are bringing home some WI cheese.

This was many years ago. Things might have changed or maybe new technology can differentiate cheese from plastic explosives now (shrug). Since then I've never put cheese in my luggage when I fly.

HHD Ram n dudes.

Busy day but didn't get much done. Mower broke and took me 3 hours to rig it enough to get through the mow. 2 trips to store, 1 took over an hour to get there cause a car ran a red as a semi was turning. Got it running, mowed and ordered new parts. Started the trimmer to do the ditch and it kept starting fine and then dying 5 seconds into a cut. Hold it full throttle no load it ran just fine but as soon as I start loading it up it dies. 30 minutes of testing found a cracked fuel line inside the tank. Went to the Echo dealer so I could get the right hose and filter and just do it once. The hose and filter that were in there were amazon specials and only 2 years old and the original hose and filter held up for 12.

Went down to my parents to borrow his chainsaw just in case mine decides to break tomorrow. I'm renting a 50ft boom lift tomorrow to take down two trees that could hit the house if they fall. They've been dead and standing for many years but the bark is starting to come off so they'll probably fall soon. They're both about 70-80ft tall and 60ft from the house. Can't drop em in the opposite direction cause they'll get hung up on other big trees. I called a tree service to get a price for just lopping off the top half and nothing else. $1k/tree. $5k for both if I want the stumps gone. $500 man lift rental it is...

On my way back from my parents house I stopped and washed my truck and then proceeded to drive home on a freshly chipsealed road.
