I get a hunger for liverwurst about once a year. Used to go to Langer's, a Jewish deli near downtown LA, to scratch that itch. Haven't been there since we moved to Corona 7 years ago. There's another Jewish deli in Palm Springs that makes an absolutely bomb liverwurst and egg salad sandwich. I forget its name, but I can find my way there.

The stuff in the local supermarkets is substandard and unfulfilling; Farmer John, Morrell, Dietz and Watson and Jones Dairy Farm come to mind. I'll have to see where I can get Boars Head...they make tasty pastrami, corned beef and dry salami...stands to reason their liverwurst is good...

Flag on the play! Liverwurst is gross.

I will support pastrami, corned beef, and salami though.

A nice grilled ham and cheese sammich is another quick and yummy eatin' sandwich. I add some dill pickles slices too. Those sweet things, often known as bread and butter pickles, suck.

There is a rather good regional sub sandwich place here in MA called D'Angelo's that make a yummy steak and cheese, green peppers and onions (its called the #9). I'd add an additional demand of hot pepper relish. It was (kinda) a fast food place. They made to order. We had two of them in town until a few years back but sadly they have been pushed out of my area and the closest one is probably an hour away now.

Other than Subway, the local sub shops are local establishments. It's not a bad thing but I miss my #9 with hots.

When I was in RI back in April I made it a point to get clam cakes and chowder from Iggy's and a steak n cheese from D'Angelo's. Also hadda stop for a Del's, too...

It's the bread. Kinda disappointed they went away from their green logo, though. I hardly recognized the place, but the sammich was still good.

Half the town is gonna be shut down tomorrow. It's the 100th anniversary when my town officially became a city (whatever... current population of 20k people. It's is still a town not a city, in my opinion).

Big parade though the main streets in town. Probably 1.5 mile long parade route. Floats, fire trucks, police cars, marching bands, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, VFW vets, probably a 21 gun salute, political teams (town elections are this coming October), etc...

After the parade, the local high school and the UMass Amherst college marching bands will be doing a concert at the high school and there will be free food grilled food (burgers and dog and stuff) hosted by the local VFW. Plus a bunch of private owner food trucks. Hispanic food, Polish food, American food, Ice cream truck, and so on.

Not sure I'll go but it would be cool to see in the marching bands and then see them perform on the high school football field. Depending on the weather check out the parade and maybe I'll take a bike ride to high school and check out the bands.

If any of the food trucks are selling deep fried cheese curds or deep fried hot dogs, I'll probably put on a few pounds. I'm sure they will have fried dough. That's another one of my weaknesses. I love me some fried dough. Cinnamon and sugar please.

What a bunch of hot dogs.
Would rather upgrade to Polish sausages. 2 parts mustard to 1 part ketchup, with a hearty pile of saurkraut.

Too late for this $hit. On the phone with Comcast (Xfinity) trying to get my e-mail working again with them. Took about an hour.

Long story short. I put the internet service in my son's name this month, He turned 18 and wanted to build a credit rating. OK, Internet is in your name (although I'll pay for it, no biggie). However in doing so, Comcast shut down my internet service at home since I didn't change the name on the bill or something or other. They said they cant have more than one person on the in the same house or condo or apartment on the same bill.

Franking whatever.

Somehow they canceled my e-mail and cable service because the account is now listed in my son's name and they need verbal verification. After an hour on the phone (press 1 for this, press 2 for that). I punted. I kinda wanted to toss the phone out the window. Just list me as the primary and my son as secondary. We'll deal with the other crap later. One would think that it would be an easy fix.

All is well though and I thank Breannna at Comcast for fixing things.

You two are killing me with the D'Angelo's #9...

A buddy here in AZ who visited RI a bunch of years back returned with the wrapper paper from a #9 just so I could smell it again...

No Ketchup on hotdogs.

Relish, dill pickle, onion, sport peppers, mustard, tomato, and celery salt.

I can get down with chili n onion.

Mayo n mustard... I could see that working.

But no fuggin Ketchup.

Had all three in-laws over for Rosh Hashanah dinner. When they left and the level of abject stupidity subsided, my wife looked at me and asked me if I still loved her...

OTOH, the brisket and apple cake I made were delish.

Woke up at 10:30. Needed the long sleep as I was exhausted from the last few days and the holiday.

Looking forward to wife getting home from her manicure so we can swim a few laps at the community lap pool.

Then going to watch football all afternoon and SNF, possibly on the vherf.

Ha, I will give you an example of some of the stupidity.

My FIL is "simple" minded and also very very cheap, mainly due to his refusal to have/keep a job.

His doctor told him to buy some compression socks to help with leg pain. Being too cheap to pay for actual compression socks, he was bragging about how he was wearing kids socks he got on wicked clearance that were so small they were just like compression socks. They were literally cutting off the circulation to his feet.

I didn't even respond to him ...

Thinking about getting a cat. I've always had pets in my life. Dogs, cats, rats, fish and so on. Yes, you read that correctly... I had pet rats in college. Pet rats are not the same as wild rats. Pet rats are pretty cool and very clean. I've never had a ferret. I've never had a bird. Both of those crossed my mind.

It's been about 5 yrs since I lost my one of my four legged best friend Madison (my last dog). I had to put him down when his kidneys stopped working. That busted me up and was a kick in the nuts.

I'd love to get another dog but I don't think I can give it the attention it deserves. Cats are lower maintenance but also warm and social so I think a cat will be my next four legged furry family member. My neighbor has one that they want to find a good home. They are planning to move to Florida in the spring and don't think taking the cat with them will work out. It's an indoor cat and well behaved. Middle aged cat mutt (not pure bred).

I told them that I'll gladly adopt it on one condition: I won't make it wear compression socks or kids socks. I hear those socks cut off the circulation to your feet.
