It is a nippy 35 degrees out there. Tank is looking at me... I know the look... "Get dressed, I gotta poop!".

Aye-Aye, Cap'n!! Let's goooooooooooooooo!

My last dog, when it was franking cold or if it was raining, didn't want to go outside even though I knew he need to. He held it as long as he could and I'd then get the look. I'd just open the back door and stand on the porch. He'd go out, do his business as fast as he could and come prancing to me.

Sometimes he wouldn't do the full business (poop, not pee or pee and not poop) and just wanted to get back inside as soon as possible. I'd say "You're not done yet, go finish" and point to the yard. He'd sulk, walk back to the yard and finish emptying the bowls or bladder then come back to the porch. "Can we go in NOW!" Sure, good boy. Time for a treat.

Temp in north central MA: 11° F with a real feel of -5° F with the windchill. I don't think I'll be going outside but I do have an errand to run. Other than that, I have some paperwork and some computer work to do. Not sure what to cook today. Prolly steak tips or tacos.

One of the engineers at work quit a few weeks ago. He was the one that ran the 3D printer to make some low volume smaller plastic parts and to print up some test models. I have inherited that part of his job. I've been playing with the printer (a Prusa MKS3) on and off over the past few weeks. There is a learning curve for a newbie like me with 3D printers on how the printer works, the software and all that stuff but it seems pretty easy. The Prusa is a nice hobby type 3D printer and it works pretty well but I think we can do better.

The company is open to upgrade the printer to a better one - bench top ones are only around $1500. We don't really need one that prints anything larger than 10" in all three dimensions and I'm leaning advise on getting a Bambu X1 after watching many reviews. Again just a bench top model to print up some small parts and some test parts.

Here is just one head to head review.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdnuLvBx66I

Work bench sized 3D printers are rather inexpensive these days. If I had $1,500 burning a hole in my pocket I'd buy a Bambu X1. I don't need one but hey, it would be cool to play with and print some random stuff.

Maybe if the owner buys a new Bambu 3D printer, I'll buy the older used Prusa from them.

Tank doesn't care what the temperature is, he just hates going out in the rain. Doesn't like the sound of thunder or the rain drumming on the roof.

Does NOT like a bath, but tolerates them without much complaint. Enjoys the water only if he can walk in and keep his feet on the ground. He's pretty solid, so it's a struggle for him to keep his head above water when swimming. Sinks like a rock.

On a great roll recently. Due to the sun, moon and stars all lining up perfectly I’ve got a chance to get home mid-morning verses late afternoon on Monday.

Found the e-bike battery key to unlock it from the e-bike. I should probably make a couple spare copies of it. Gave the lock a couple of sprits of some WD-4 (it was kinda sticky for not being unlocked for about 6 months) and it's twisting like it should. Now I can unlock the battery and bring it inside to charge it when needed rather it being in the deep cold on the porch.

It's too damn cold to ride it but at least I can get the battery inside out of the cold.

It's a small accomplishment that will require a cheese burger for a small victory. The cheeseburger was already on the docket to be consumed so it didn't have a choice. Burger, cheese, onion pickles and lettuce.

Had my annual body fluid evaluation at work. Woke up around 2p and already got results. Everything's perfect. Was too tired this morning to have a smoke even though I planned on just burning a little t52 cigarillo. Can't fall back asleep maybe I'll go to the garage for a bit before work tonight.

I filled out the forms to finalize the job transfer. They said they'll schedule my piss test next week. They won't accept the annual test I just did today, it's gotta be a surprise test... at least its not the cotinine test and I can have my one drug of choice.

Gotta have a thick slice of ripe tomato with that burger...ketchup, mayo and mustard...

I could go for a cheeseburger right about now...

Agreed. Double thin smashed fatty beef patty with crisped up lacey edges and American cheese melted into the greasy meat so the drippings are orange colored on a thick bun to soak up the flavor.

I had rice and kimchi tonight. Bringing jambalaya to work. Kinda tempted to stop at five guys or schoops on my way to work but a big old burger would make me sleepy

Out in the garage with that T52 cigarillo I skipped out on this morning. I love these things. Thought I had more but it'd my last one. Will need to grab a couple more tins next time i order. Excellent 30 min smoke.

No tomato on the cheese burger. I don't like tomato as a condiment. No mustard, no mayo, no ketchup. I don't like those condiments either. Just a cheeseburger, pickle lettuce, onion on a butter grilled bun. Could have added some bacon but didn't feel like frying up some bacon.

Crock pot will be cooking some pasta sauce tomorrow with hot Italian sausage, some burger, onion, garlic, peppers (hot and sweet).

If a couple plays went a different way, the Pack would be playing next week. But it didn't happen so they wont.

It was a pretty good season for a bunch of young kids cutting their teeth in the NFL. Hopefully they can continue with the momentum next year.

Iffin’ the younguns continue to improve, there’s no telling how far they can go next season.

I think the team firmly believes in JLove and he in them.

You're not lying. The first drive FG pissed me off because the defense looked like sh*t. Then the subsequent drive for SF pissed me off even further... I went to bed and read my book. Woke up to see they pulled it off.

I think they can probably beat the Lions or Buccs, but if they get by them and have to play the Ravens again, they're Franked. Hope Deebo is okay to go.

Happy Sunday folks.

My damn aching knee kept me awake most of the night. Apparently, it didn't like the 17K steps I did yesterday. Funny how it can feel worse when I'm NOT putting weight on it then when I am.

Same.

Woke up late to see 10 with a wc of -5. Tenth day in a row where the high temp for the day was 10 colder than normal. Average high this time of year is 25, w/ night time lows of 10.

Going to see how much fun walking 5 miles all within the house feels. Probably like an inmate in a nicer, 1,200 ft cell.

Don't forget the burpees!

Dog walk was 29 degrees. Sweats, hooded sweatshirt, leather jacket, beanie and gloves. Toes, fingers and nose were froze... but I survived.

All I’m going is wearing out the worm out carpeting. Only at 2.2 miles within the confines.

Going to have to suck it up and walk the neighborhood

Plus, it is warming up (sorta) 13/-2.

Speaking of cold, yesterday from 0830 until noon we were outside in 25°'ish temperatures. The wind was 10mph with gusts to 20mph and we were shooting off concrete benches in the shade. I had thick wool socks in boots, a shirt, a fuzzy pullover, an insulated vest and an insulated flannel jacket but no insulated pants, just cotton jeans. It sucked and our scores did too.

My BP has been good and the resting heart rate is back around 60 bpm. Had 2 beers and 2 cocktails yesterday, slept like ass but I am feeling better each day.

Took the weekend off from the gym, will go back to it tomorrow.

Probably have a cigar for the first time in a while this week when it warms up.

So here I sit. I’m 177 miles from my exit. Then I’ve got a mile to where I plan to park and another mile to my house.

But because of DOT rules I had to stop last night at 2103. Now I have to wait until 0703 to log a re-fuel and a pre-trip inspection. So finally around 0715 I’ll drop the hammer on this pig and head east. The idea being to combat fatigue. Well I’ve been awake since 0218. Since I was so excited last night about getting home fatigue was not an issue. But, rules are rules. I’m just as excited now, but only marginally more rested.

Assuming no out of the ordinary events I’ll be parked and calling for an Uber by about 0955. If one isn’t less than 5 minutes away and it’s not raining I’m gonna put boots on the ground and hike. It’s only 7 minutes to my house. Been there done that. Tried Uber once around 2200 between to huge bands of thunderstorms. The nearest Uber was about half hour out. Didn’t want to wait.

That’s the sucky part of this. I miss my family and I want to get home to see them. So close yet so far away.

So while waiting to leave I start packing my truck. May as well use my time wisely. That way as soon as I get back in my car I can grab everything and go back home.

Well I forgot to put the grounds in the filter. Now it’s brewing for the second time.

Good Monday Morning to All! It's 30° on the way to 55° today. Driving my wife to a GI appointment and spending the rest of the day repairing/improving my coffee roaster.

Some dumbazz, me, backed out the golf cart and tipped it over. In a way, it's a good thing, I got it working and quit with clamps still holding to rolling table ii's mounted on. Clamps have been replaced with bolts and all thread rods. Now I'm repairing the fan mounting.

Ran in the door about 5 minutes ago.

Coffee ended up being too good. About 10 minutes out I got that loving feeling. But it didn’t seem to be urgent just a friendly heads up. Pulled in and parked still fine. Then all of a sudden before I could set the air brakes I cramped. Somewhere along the way my passenger jumped from the Mayflower to the Cannonball Express.

Didn’t dare hike because I knew I’d fill my boots if I did. So I hit Uber for a ride. When Uber paired a driver it showed him 8 minutes away. Ended up taking him 15. I watched his progress on the app and he hit every damn red light on the way. Oh and to top it all off the Uber driver was playing an Arabic radio station that seemed to be broadcasting prayer call music. He he made a right on red coming out of the parking lot without stopping. A car on the highway had to slam on his brakes to keep from piling into us.

When we pulled up I’m trying to open the door before he stopped. Didn’t work. He had to come to a complete stop before the doors would unlock automatically. Ran up the side walk, came in and slammed the front door shut, rounded the corner and damn near knocked my 83 year old Mom on her arse who happened to be coming up the hall. But, all’s well that ends well.

Was around 40 when we walked the dog. 63 right now.

Gym done, picked up the new spectacles for the wife and myself. Had a protein shake with blueberries and avocado.

Need to shower and shave.
