Anybody hear from that old buzzard yet?

HHD Ram, danm and all.

Wife talked me into going bowling yesterday. Neither of us have bowled in at least the 34 years we have been married anyway. It wasn't pretty. I never broke 150 in three games. No strikes and only picked up a few spares. Think I pulled a hammy and my lower back is hurting. fog

That’s the thing. The soup was made with chicken breasts. Could I have broken the tooth simply biting down on another tooth? Never had anything like that happen before. Feel like a 100 year old oak tree who’s branches keep dying and falling off. Teeth, eyes, heart. Damn.

That is so true. Was just at the dentist this morning to fill a cavity caused by it's filling falling of. Decay underneath where the filling was near gum line. Thought I was going to have to get an implant, but the dentist easily filled it and it was only $47 with my dental insurance!

From the shenanigans post yesterday:

MACS survived his surgery. One stent was installed.
Stayed overnight in the hospital as planned.
Feeling okay, expected to be released this morning.

Appreciate the prayers and support for the Brother.

Mornin' dudes. Not quite ready for the douche-baggery and ass-hattery just yet. I'll settle for a little shenanigans. Gonz

Slept well. Dog was happier to see me than the wife was. Of course, he stood to lose if I died and she stood to gain, sooo... I guess that makes sense.

Seems to me dogs are the only ones who love us more than we love ourselves. Boy had wiggle butt for 10 minutes and kept circling me. Good thing he doesn't jump on me. That could have been disastrous.

Kuba the Greyhound prefers my wife to me in general. However (comma) on weekdays I’m home, she knows I’m walking her, she starts sucking up early. Today is no different.

Ya know... Sometimes II'd like to put blinders on the wife when she's having one of her OCD episodes.

I set the coffee pot up for tomorrow, did up the dishes... then she wonders into the Kitchen as I'm adding milk to my bowl of cereal and what does she see? I spilt a little bit of sugar on the counter adding it to my bowl?? WTF!!! I'm distancing myself from her until she hits another gear upstairs!!! d'oh! Herfing

Rained for over 12 hours yesterday. Mudslides in a few places but luckily no major damages or injuries.

Still cloudy but at least there’s a pause in the wet stuff.

The day after the first day of Winter is one of my favorite days. Psychologically, it give me a boost.

Less uplifting is the idea of it getting colder, then near four weeks of coldest is still in front of us. Will take these milestones one at a time.

New Chinese restaurant opened in town. They own one called Long Noodle in the town next door and they have positive reviews. The owners bought out another Chinese restaurant in town a couple yrs back (I didn't know that Kenny's Chinese as bought out by the owners of Long Noodle).

An older Chinese restaurant went out of business during the COVID shut down, they kinda sucked anyway. Owners of Long Noodle bought that place, redid it and opened in the past couple weeks. It's called Four Seasons. I'll have to give it a try.

My litmus test for American versions of Chinese places is how good is their hot and sour soup (I love hot and sour soup). I predict that there is an order for take out from there on the horizon.

What style of Chinese food is the most popular on the Right Coast? Here in Hawaii 'cause the early Chinese immigrants came from the Canton region, a great majority of the Chinese restaurants were Cantonese. Of course other cuisines have since become popular, Szechuan, Hunan, Mandarin and Shandong but Cantonese is my go-to.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you. I know there are distinct differences but I couldn't define them. I'm not a specialist on Asian food distinctions. I just know what I like. If I had to guess I would guess mostly Szechuan but they offer a mix of stuff.

I'm a big fan of curry too and they all do some curry. My guess would be Thai based curry. I like it hot enough to make my scalp sweat. We don't have a Thai or Indian restaurants in the area but I would like to see one open up somewhere, I would support it as long as the food is good.

These are the "Chinese" ones in my town and adjoining towns.

There's others that I'm told are good but they are about a 20-30 drive away. Along with smaller mom and pop places there is buffet and hibachi places (but hibachi it technically Japanese if I'm correct).

Two NINEty!

Interesting menus at those 4 places. They either mix different types of Chinese cuisines and / or even ethnic foods. And yes, hibachi is Japanese. My all-time favorite meal is the chicken hekka my Dad would make in the living room. He would fire up the Shichirin (hibachi), bring it in, use the big cast iron pan and make the dish right there. So many ingredients and there was an order to it all. But like many recipes, nothing written down.

Looking back, in that old wooden house, bringing in a live fire was kinda crazy! Gonz
