HHD Ram, danm and all.

Wife talked me into going bowling yesterday. Neither of us have bowled in at least the 34 years we have been married anyway. It wasn't pretty. I never broke 150 in three games. No strikes and only picked up a few spares. Think I pulled a hammy and my lower back is hurting. fog

Last time I bowled was in 2018 in Las Vegas. Pulled BOTH hammies, tweaked my left knee and my hips were sore the next day. Swore I would NEVER bowl again. NEVER! ram27bat

Stuck home all am and in to the afternoon. Already had plumber come to re-install the piece he broke and the pool guy to replace the valve acctuater that kept the hot-tub from working. Probably going to fire it up tonight.B rick paver repair guys are here n sum settled brick pavers around the pool and spa. Only three thinngs left on the list I started in October: painting the whole interior of the house (begins Tuesday); arrival of my aquarium and stand; and arrival of some cigars (hopefully soon). Looking forward to two long weekends ina row! And, that will bring this year to a close.

I was referring to good cigars so my top strains are those made by Padron and LFD.
As for other strains I don't pay attention to names or classifications. If it looks and smells good I'll take it.
I did have a unique strain a couple weeks ago. It was 80% purple so much purple it looked like it was colored with a crayon, it tasted sweet, and hit hard.

I bowl every now and again. We have a nice modern standard 10 pin bowling alley in town. It's been around for a long time and they have kept it up to date with modern technology.

We also have a candlepin bowling alley. Candlepin has skinny pins, 3 rolls per person per frame, they don't clear out the knocked down pins between rolls so the fallen "wood" can help you knock down standing pins or they can get in the way. The balls are small - slightly larger than a softball with no finger holes. The lanes are not oiled so there is no skidding sliding of the balls.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candlepin_bowling

When my kids were young, candlepin was easier for them due to the smaller and lighter balls for their smaller hands. The alley has been around forever and was on the second generation of ownership. It was like stepping back into the 70's for decor and the lanes were kinda warped but it was still fun to take the kids. You had to keep your own scores and you paid on the honor system. When you're done bowling, just tell the guy how many games you rolled and pay.

In the past year or so, the guy that owned it sold it. The new owners closed it down for a while while they did renovations. It reopened this past summer but I haven't visited the it to see the remodel.

I use to be a pretty good bowler. I even took bowling in college (we had to take X number of credits of physical education. I picked bowling, golf, and badminton or something). Since then I learned to suck at bowling - lucky if I can break triple digits but I don't get injured.

Ice skating... that's another story. Last time I ice skated was 8 or 10 or so years ago when the kids were young. The local indoor skating rink did a thing where you could bring your kids and the high school hockey players were there to run a learn to skate clinic. We went, rented ice skates. While the kids were teamed up with one of the hockey players to learn to skate, I just tooled around the other end of the ring. Keep in mind I haven't skated since probably junior high but it's like getting riding a bike and it comes back to you even if you haven't done it in years. I still could skate just fine.

The day after ice skating for a couple hours my groin muscles, calf muscles, thigh muscles were rather upset at me and my legs wanted to disown me for a couple days. Hence to say, I haven't ice skated since that lower body rebellion.

MMXX strain... it gives you a numbing body buzz, great before bedtime... Sleep like a baby and wake with less aches and pains. Thw Mrs. likes the Sativa strain when she gets on the clean the house modes... I don't care for that type strain because it's the kind that makes you paranoid and chit...

As far as Cigars for this Christmas Venue, I'm breaking out some 2006-07 era.. PSD-4's which was one of my favorite Cuban blends (which is why I have more of, because back in the day they'd go on sale and I'd buy a box or two) wife's nephew's have enjoyed a few cigars I've broken out at our lake lot bon fires... Herfing

Merry Christmas to You and Yours Robert and to All the CBid BOTL & Family!!! Herfing Beer Beer

and SOTL as well... I seen Mrs. Sledin around here a few days ago.. Herfing

Morning guys. Still raining a little but should be moving east by noon.

The DED family Christmas party is this afternoon at my daughter's this year and we usually have about 20 or more with us three brothers and our kids and grandkids. A couple of the older grandkids are out of state so we will conference them in.

Merry Christmas to all who read this and also to their family, friends, and friends that they haven't met yet.

There was a house in town that would put on a light show that danced with the music every year. You'd drive up, park on the road, tune your radio to a certain radio channel then watch and listen. The show would repeat every 15 minutes or so from about 5 to 8 PM.

Here's some clips that people uploaded to YouTube

Every year it was a different music theme. My favorite was the year they did Mannheim Steamroller or maybe it was Trans-Siberian Orchestra for the music.

Sadly, they moved away so the show is no longer on but I heard that there is another house that has one set up. Might have to check that one out.

Good Saturday Morning, Almost Afternoon to All! Slow getting my FA outta bed today, finishing up a second round of antibiotics for a sinus infection.

It's 62° on the way to 66° today, just one package to wrap and I think we'll be ready to load the truck with all the gifts. It will be full load. Going to our older son' MIL Christmas day. In spite of or more like because of the recent death of one of her daughters, she insisted on doing Christmas. Frankly I am looking forward to Tuesday, Anxious

I forgot to add Happy Hanukkah and other greetings for other faiths that folks follow. The name of the Holiday may be different but the wishes are all the same.

I wish you all and your family, friends, and friends that they haven't met yet a happy, safe, and healthy Holiday season. I am truly blessed for what has been given to me in my life. I cannot forget that because it could be snuffed out in a blink of an eye.

Placed a to go order at the new Chinese place in town. Sent the kid to go pick it up. My litmus test of good Chinese restaurants is their hot and sour soup so that was chosen. I also picked Tia Chen Chicken (extra hot) with an egg roll and some pork fried rice. Son just wanted some apps of beef teriyaki and boneless ribs (boring).

The place has good reviews but I'll hold off my judgment until after I eat... and also I might need a nap to contemplate my conclusion.

Wifey took the 6 year old to see the nutcracker today so I had an awesome full day alone with the 4 year old. Gymnastics, then some "learn to ride a pedal bike" time, lunch date, a movie, and some time riding her scooter around the neighborhood. Tomorrow she has a morning play date with a friend, so I get a few hours alone with the 6 year old to take her on a longer bike ride. It's so nice to have these breaks from regular life to slow down and really soak in what's most important.

Well... under the "go big or go home" mantra... I'm headed out for the 2.7 mile walk around the neighborhood with the puppy dog. Wife will be holding the leash, I'm just along for the walk today.

I feel good enough to tackle it. If I start feeling like chit, I'll turn around. After the new year turns, I'm taking my ass back to the gym. Wonder what proper blood flow is gonna do for my bench? LOL

Today will be Christmas Day for our house but nobody else is awake yet.

The daughter has to fly on home on the real Christmas Day and be at work on the 26th for her next clinical rotation.

3 mile walk. Heart did well. Leg bruise covers half my thigh at this point, but the doctor said it'll likely spread all the way to my knee. Doesn't hurt, though.

Was getting 45-50 zone minutes on the fitbit (elevated heart rate) during our walks. Only got 18 today. Huge improvement. That's what it was before the heart issue.

Watching videos from the 1980s with the closed caption on, reveling in knowing the lyrics I’ve been singing might not be 98.2% wrong, but 82.9% is probably close on some songs.

I did have Dancing With Myself 80% right.

Amazon sucks big fat ballsacks.

Says I got a delivery. I sure did. My neighbors box... where's my box? Anyone's guess.

It's like the delivery drivers don't even look at the fkn label. Just drop it and take a picture. Idiots.

Edit: My neighbor had my package. He just brought it to me. I left his by his front door because he wasn't home. There were a few boxes there. One was mine.

Grand daughter's 7th Birthday party celebration today...seemed kinda like a rehearsal for tomorrow, when we'll go bigger and earlier...

I think by tomorrow, I'll be weary of traditional Christmas songs...and will be glad for a 351ish day hiatus

Happy b- day to the grand daughter, Delta. That must be a ton of fun to watch your kid's kids grow up.

Amazon is usually spot on here, but they have been dropping our packages off at the neighbor's house and visa versa for the last week or so. Must be all the temp drivers they have for the holidays. We know what their stoops look like so we just check the delivery picture to see who's front door to go to for our packages... first world problems.

As usual, the family will not be doing Chinese food and a movie tomorrow along with all the other Jews in town. Three hour wait for cold cashew chicken, no thanks. Lazy morning with the family, then meeting a handful of other semites at a park so our kids can all play space jew laser together and pretend they control the entertainment and finance industries.
