Had an Old Fashioned... then we went to another place and I had a couple more. 3 was the limit. With a full belly, that was the ticket. One more and I would have had to let Mrs MACS drive home. I taught her how to drive, so she drives like an Asian lady but really fast.

I think it's safer if I drive wif a buzz. Laugh

Went to pool with wife, but for the second time in 2 years there wasn't a single lane open. Waited a bit and gave up. Then, tried to swim laps in the recreational section of the poll, but it isn't deep enough (3.5') and my fingers where hitting the floor. Waited around some more. Lane opened up. Shared it with another guy (so he would share with me if I ever need him to. Wife had a hair appointment so I only got 400yds. in. :(

Doc appointment today close to home-so I might stop at the lap pool on the way home.

Going to try to watch the rocket launch this evening from Cape Canaveral/KSC. Should be a real good view if thee are no clouds.

Morning.

84/70 with 71% chance of rain later this morning.

Gonna head out to the pool soon to avoid the rain.

Only swam 1,600 yards so far this week due to schedule, agendas and weather. Also gonna swim tomorrow and finish off the week off with 3,600-4,000 yards. Will swim again Sunday to begin next week on track.

Tomorrow, we are going to the Apopka Foliage Fair (plant sale). Apopka, FL is known as "the indoor plant capital of the world." Hoping to get on a tour of another major corporate grower's greenhouses and labs to check out the operations.

pocket full of sun today...

Had a telephone consultation with my sister's oncologist. He reported that the ganglioglioma tumor test results were back. He said the tumor cells have mutated twice, but is the least aggressive and least destructive/invasive type of brain cancer. This means there is a good chance that the tumor hasn't invaded and damaged too many of her brain cells in a critical area of her brain. Her physical deterioration is likely due to the tumor pressing against areas of the brain, cutting off control of those motor functions, causing imbalance, loss of strength and mobility.

This also means there is a chance for her physical condition to improve after successful treatment. Removing the tumor would relieve the pressure it exerts on that critical control center of the brain. He recommends radiation, which is a targeted approach, unlike chemotherapy which has major side effects throughout her body, and may stop working. Radiation treatments will start in a couple of weeks after her radiologist gets a CT scan and an MRI from which she'll prepare her plan to destroy the tumor. Treatments will be Mon-Fri, for 5 weeks.

My sister had become increasingly depressed and seemed to be losing her will and drive to survive...she was looking into the future and didn't like what she saw...

But this diagnosis and plan for treatment was a breath of fresh air...............finally.......some hope!!!

Agreed, stay strong delta. Hopefully things progress in the right direction. As you say... Finally some hope!!! We have some positive stuff going on here too.

The issues that my dad has been going though seems to have taken a 180° turn in the past week for the positive. Somehow his kidney functions have come back on-line (not 100% but way better than what they were telling us a week ago) and are not a major concern anymore but still need to be monitored. Misdiagnosis? Wrong scripts or level of scripts? Miscommunication between the various docs and family? Intervention from a supreme being? I don't know.

We're just counting our blessings that this week is so much brighter than last week for all involved.

^ This is true.

Shed many tears last weekend, was looking to book flights, planning my next tattoo in memory of my dad. Don't need to book last minute flights now, tears have dried up, tattoo can wait for a bit.

Still flying back home late May-ish time frame since my mom is still scheduled for a hip replacement around that time. Exact dates for my WI invasion TBD. Probably put a stake in the ground after our family meeting this coming Wed with my dad's point of contact doctor (finally) and my siblings. Tentatively mid to late May, early June. Might bring my son and daughter with me depending on timing and their school schedule.

(I really should start writing this $hit down on a calendar with all this stff coming up)

Taking it one day at a time...

Good to hear some hopeful news for Al's and Bucky's families.

Good Saturday morning dudes. 71/96 here. Forced march followed by gym and may get in the pool but the water is a tad cold yet.

Good Saturday Morning to All! It's 59° on the way to 84° today. Heading to the range for an ARA Tournament, just a match, but we shoot six targets instead of the usual four, a lot of concentration time.

All the best to the Delta and Bucky families.
