You can stop doing the tomahawk chop now. You should be approaching Gator Country!

Went to Disney springs to visit the lego store.

Left $80 lighter.

Weather's a little nicer about 60 and the rain stopped.

What up gentlemen (…and you too Corey…)?

Looks like it’s gonna be a really nice day. Wanted to either cut grass or get started on the house painting project. Both vetoed by the wifey. She wants us to go into town to a mostly Japanese store to buy rice (…from Japan, not California…), some marinated teriyaki beef that our daughter likes and look for Girl’s Day (March 3) t-shirts for our granddaughters. Then we’re gonna buy some Popeye’s for dinner. I like that part of the plan.

yummm....Popeye's...I could go for some Popeye's right about now...

but we've committed to having carnitas tacos, french fries and mac n cheese with our daughter and her family...

gonna be cooler and rainy most of the day, so no walk for me...that's ok, since I tweaked my back emptying the trash a coupla nights ago...

I'm gonna make tacos for dinner too. Nothing special tho. My parents have very simple tastes, as do wife n boy, so I need to keep things simple and plain. Ground beef tacos with a packet of taco seasoning.

Did have a vacation cigar. Wife suggested we go for a walk and I bring along "one of your short cigars" I'm not turning down that invite. I don't prefer to walk n smoke but after 2 days of doing nothing but sitting we needed to get some steps in. The boy was in the pool with gramma n grampa, we walked for an hour and then swam for a bit too. Water was nice. Getting out and walking back to the room was not.

Frickin' regulations in the Atlantic don't allow us to keep Red Snapper. Last year they had TWO DAYS where everyone could keep ONE FISH.

They are absolutely abundant here. We catch them all the time and have to throw them back. They should limit the amount the commercial jagoffs can keep. It ain't the sport fisherman overfishing them.

Alabama allows 2 per person per day. So does the gulf side of Florida... bastids.

My buddy has an offshore boat. Snapper season is year round and 4 fish per angler. Got some from him

In line 1:40 already for this ride. 10 minutes ago they made an announcement they're operating at reduced capacity expect long waits. Increased the expected wait time to 175 minutes now.

I just don't see the value. It's cool n stuff but if I stayed all 12 hours the park is open, that's $50/hr. The cost to entertainment ratio is insufficient. Several coworkers do multiple trips here and visit all the parks every year. I don't get it. 3 hours in line for 10 minutes of fun just isn't fun overall

^Yes. I wholeheartedly concur. I try to go to amusement parks on days they won't be as crowded, if I can do it.

Like I said... when I went to Universal Orlando even the popular rides like Harry Potter's Wizarding World weren't that bad, and most of the coasters (which I love) were short lines and we did multiple runs.

Lines? Forget it. We were ruined at Disneyland in California. My sisters'd first husband was a top salesperson at Forrester Insurance. Forrester rented the entire park for their employees and families. It was awesome! We could get off a ride like Pirates of the Caribbean or the Haunted House, walk to the entrance and ride it again.

We rode everything EXCEPT The Small World ride, fuck that and whomever wrote that song!

We did go to the Houston Six Flags on Boy Scouts day, almost as easy as Disneyland. My wife LOVES rollercoasters but after four trips on that looping thing that dead ends in mid air, Montezuma's Revenge at Knott's Berry Farm, I had to say; "No more!" LOL

1. Only come during the off-season. Right now is peak season.
2. Always buy the outrageously priced, go-to the- head-of-the-line passes.
3. Be prepared for an unaffordable day at Disney.

Basically, you have to go all-in.

I might have been at the same conference. Lotusphere? It was an IBM thing. The conference was always at the Dolphin and Swan and a different park each year. I went every year for 5 or 6 years. They also had people rolling cigars for us, and open bar, and delicious food. Very nice :)

You ahhh wicked smaaaht. Ya know that carbs = sugar. Your body gives zero sh*ts if you eat a candybar or shove a loaf of bread down your gullet.

It's glucose. And it's BAD. You 100% know it.

Trust me, pal... I'm there with you. I love chocolate. I love full fat, full sugar ice cream. I love bread.

Been staying away from them. I have ice cream once a week. I used to eat that sheit every night.

I attended SolidWorks World... Dolphin & Swan were sold out so they put me in the Yacht Club.. had a good time.. hung out in St. Pete's for a couple days also... Mellow

I decided to break the rules and not notice the no smoking sign by the patio where the grills are. I can smoke up some grease splatters but not a cigar? Fuggit I'll apologize and walk away if needed. Wasn't needed. I'll do it again tomorrow. Makes vacation so much better not depriving myself of a small luxury I indulge in at home.

The rat can kiss my ass.

I get that's the ideal way to get the Disney experience but we're not really a Disney or really even a theme park family. Only reason I'm in Orlando is because my parents give us a free week of lodging. Only reason we do the theme parks is cause we're here. And we only do one day because it's expensive AF and it's not the reason we came. If not for the free stay in a luxury resort, we would not go to Orlando on our own.

It just blows that it costs so much and the ROI is so little. I do it for the kid, for the memories, and just because we're already here. For half the price, I wouldn't bitch so much. It was cool, I'm glad we went, but I'll be upset again when the Discover card bill is due.

One the complaints about Disney is that the parks were once for families but now are just for the rich.

Walt and Roy are surely turning over in their graves about what Disney has become.
