Got in around 1 AM. Took me 26 hours to make it home from Santa Fe Springs, CA to Southern LA. Here for a week or so then northward to a new opportunity.

@ Danm - never used Spotify. SiriusXM came with the Ram... 1 year all access free. Then afterward it was $6 a month with the deal they offered. It just jumped, so I canceled and will wait for that $6 a month deal to show up again.

I enjoy some of their stations. Classic Rewind, Ozzy's Boneyard, Hair Nation, The Bridge, Yacht Rock, Classic Vinyl and of course the 70's and 80's channels.

I do have a metric sh*t-ton of music on my iTunes, too... so there's that in the meantime.

Waiting for 9 am so I can pester a certain financial entity that is carrying my short term policy so I can return back to work without restrictions.

The joy.

Reached operator. Was given the extension to her voicemail that I've been leaving messages on since last week with no return call! Explained that to the operator. Transferred me to her extension.

Called my own HR. Alerted them that "Houston we have a problem!"...said they appreciated me reaching out, but they have to hear it from them before they release me from Short Term Disability.

I'll be calling that extension several times today.

Shaved, showered, then off to a breakfast with a former coworker from Insco Hell.
Nearly unfathomable to learn how things have continued to get worse. She doesn’t realize it’s a plan. A feature to trim payroll and right sizing, not a flaw. Talked about fun things too.

Dog walked, lunch next, then a cigar or two with a great buddy and a game or two of The Bones.

Someone spilled the beans at work. Current boss or new boss told someone and now I woke up to a dozen text messages. I was trying to avoid this. Dip out for vacation and just not come back.

Got about 4 hours of sleep after I got home early this AM.

When I woke up I took both of my ladies to the Dr this morning. Then after getting haircut I took the rental car to the local drop spot.

Then a trip to the grocery store. In addition to the grocery list I picked up a 2-basket cabinet top fryer.

Came home and put the groceries away then made fried shrimp and homemade French Fries for the ladies; my Mom who my son brought over for a visit, and my son and I. Cleaned up the kitchen then fell asleep on the couch. Woke up, took my contacts out and got in bed.

Been a long day.

Happy Saturday folks. A little wet out but not enough to stop anything. A walk and gym early after which I predict a cigar and a good stout.

Today should be the last day of the double bathroom reno. It will be nice to be able to crap, wash my hands and shower in the same room again...

Four people brushing their teeth in the kitchen sink is getting old.

Up too late and too early. Meeting in the morning, Kuba walk followed. Wife is out picking up food.
Will munch on subs while watching the end of Nottingham Forest v Newcastle, then nap time.

Daughter got us up at 5:30. Made her a grilled cheese sammich for breakfast. Then made scrambled eggs, ham and toast with huckleberry jelly for the Mrs and I. After that we all went back to sleep. Got up about 11:00 and shopped online for new bed and mattress. Then I went and picked up Italian take out for everyone. Now the Mrs and I are going to watch a movie while our daughter who is sick naps.

So I have this cat. He's a great cat however, he's curious about everything. In between his cat naps, he's investigating things. He doesn't scratch or destroy things he's just... a curious and energetic cat. Small guy, average indoor cat size maybe 3 yrs old (I took him in when a neighbor was looking to move to FL). He's immune to the squirt gun (just tap water) so if he's into something that he should be and I catch him, he just walks away as if to say "yeah, give it a squirt... it's only water. By the way you shouldn't have left the grapes on the table... they look like a play toy"

He even drinks out of the toilet even though he has plenty of fresh water in his bowl. I swear he's a reincarnated dog put into a cat body.

Somewhere in the house there are about 12 cat ball play things (golf ball size things with a bell inside). I have no idea where they are and I'm fresh out of cat balls. Ball of paper works for a bit to burn some energy. And he has very little interest in catnip. What cat doesn't like catnip?

Maybe I should buy him a mouse to play with (Tommy and Jerry sort of thing). Then again, they might become friends and I'll have two four legged animals thinking of how to Frank with the humans.

Yay, 2x bath Reno is done... Have to wait a few weeks for the shower glass,, but I can use a curtain in the mean time. Nice to have two working bathrooms again and the wife likes all the design choices I made and convinced her she actually was the one deciding on.

Look everywhere. You find one...you'll find them all. Usually where they can't get to. Under sofa, behind armoire, entertainment centers...they dont abandon faves. Get a laser pointer. You'll thank me later. As for plush toys i go to the dollar stores for dogs, cats and lemurs. They love them and I'm ot out pet store prices. Get some catnip and rub it into the toy. Leave out in the open and enjoy.

Even better if by a score of 31-24.

Busy day today. Daughter woke me and the Mrs. up at 5:30 AM. I made breakfast for her, and the Mrs. and I.

Got a video conference set for noon. After that the Mrs and and I are headed out to purchase a king sized version of the queen bed she bought a few years back after our divorce. Also going to purchase a mattress. Looks like it’s going to be a Serta Hybrid plush top. It’s a little pricy, but it’s supposed to be excellent for our old bones and hopefully the last one we’ll ever buy.

She’s an NFL fan so we’ll be breaking my boycott and going out to watch the Superbowl.

I miss my cats antics when he was younger. Now he's just a crabass. Sometimes can be sweet but mostly just meows at the top of his lungs to wake up and feed him, or the dog drank from his water bowl so he wants fresh water, or he just wants to be carried around.

He's 19 now. Found him half dead on the road as a tiny kitten in winter. Warmed him up and humane society wanted me to pay a fee to take him. Said it was for neutering and shots. Took him to a free kitty clinic in Chicago and brought him back to humane society. They still wanted money. Tried to find someone to take him. Nobody would. Tried to get my girlfriend (wife) to take him but he was not nice so she said no. I didn't like cats. Never named him either, still call him kitty. The little bastid grew on me.

Sunday morning has always been boy n dad time. We watch a few different YouTube channels where they rebuild cars and equipment and stuff as a weekly series.

Last night he snuck my tablet in his room and stayed up till 1am watching videos. So he's grounded from screentime. Also got an email from his teacher that he's not turned in any progress work on a multi week homework assignment due tomorrow.

So no dad n jack time. Cigar in the garage, shower, then bed. Next Sunday will be grampa dad n jack time down in Florida.
