I had something that someone needed to pick up at my office. He had my address. The whole thing, including the suite number.
Sometime in the multi-hour time range he gave for picking the item up, I get a call from him saying that he "went to where 'it' (presumably his phone's map app) took him but it's just a large plaza. My office building has it's own address, printed in large numbers ON THE BUILDING, and is one of the only two multi-story buildings in the entire plaza. Also, I know the maps apps puts the pin for the address directly on top of the correct building. He drove to the pin and then had compete vapor lock as to what to do next. I told him I was in the building with [insert street numbers here] on it, go to the XX floor and I am in suite XXX. Ten minutes later another call from him saying "I am in the building but I don't see you". I asked him what businesses he could see, and instantly knew he was in the wrong building, so I told him to walk across the courtyard, go into the other office building and come up to the XX floor, then go into suite XXX and ask the receptionist for me. It's a 5 minute walk, TOPS. I get another call a few minutes later asking, again, what floor I am on. 20+ Minutes later, I get a call from my receptionist that he is at the front desk. I meet him and give him what he needed to pick up. He is drinking a glass of water that my recpetionist offered him because he seemed out of breath. I walk back up to the front desk 5 minutes later and he is enjoying a cup of coffee that he asked my receptionist for. OK, I move on. 30 minutes later (after he finally left) I am joking with my recpetionist about the encounter and she confesses that he asked her out pretty much as soon as he walked in.
WTF? Customers/clients: You can't live with them- you can't live without them. Can't tell you how many time I walked outside my office and up the street to the main road just to waive people in. Funny thing to me is that if I expanded the location view of my office enough on my phone, I could see the marker move in as I walked around the office in real time!
