I’d bicth about the snow from last night, still going and the upcoming 3-6 inches Saturday night into Sunday, HOWEVER, just saw a story on the amount, frequency and depth of snow in Lake Tahoe.

Holy Donner Party, Batman!

Spey,
You still alive?

He moved from Tahoe to another home at a much lower altitude that doesn't get nearly as much snow, but still got hit this time.

I don't even remember applying for a position at Infineon (shrug). At least train your bots to use proper grammar and punctuation.

Way too long.
I used to write a two sentence letter stating we hired someone else and wised them well in their endeavors.
That's it.

My new Lego set finally arrived. Lord of the Rings Rivendell model. 6k+ pieces. Doing it with the boy and pacing it out by the bags in the box. Bags 1 and 2 got through one stage of the build so that's where we stopped today. Tomorrow's stage is bags 3-5. There's 50 bags.

Exhaust tubing should be here tomorrow. Didn't know FedEx ground did Sunday delivery but that's what the tracking says. That'll keep me busy for a while.

Wasn't really expecting it to come until Weds, when I go back to work. So if it comes sooner, win. If it comes Weds or later no problem either, won't have time to work on it until the next week.

I'm just hoping I can grind/drill/helicoil the catalytic converter. It's built into the exhaust manifold and is $600 to replace. The secondary cat is probably going to get removed and straight piped through. It's after the downstream o2 sensor so shouldn't cause any running issues/codes. The flanges on that one are completely rotted out. The primary one is corroded and the bolts are unidentifiable protrusions of rust scale on the outlet flange but maybe I can make it work. Dunno. With fedex carrying it, may not come at aal.

No clock shenanigans here. The Indians say it's like cutting a foot off the top of a blanket and sewing it on the bottom to make it longer.

1/3rd of the way through a projected continual, 36 hour snow event. It is a lighter in density snow. When it end tomorrow mid morning, we should have 7-10 inches.

Wife is making a tater tot casserole for lunch. That should stick to the bones well.

So far just a cup of coffee, 2 eggs, 2 sausage and toast.

I dunno what's on the menu for later, but a nap in the recliner is a big probability.

Is it John Wayne's version? There are many variations, but it is pretty tasty.

Most of my laptops are Dell. Haven't had any major problems with them. Also have an old Dell tower that I turned into a home a network server and media center, they have plenty of room in the case for expansion cards and adding hard drives.

Have a SFF desk top Dell that I turned into a Hackintosh (Mac OS running on a Dell). Haven't used it in a year or so, just wanted to see if I could do it.

Couple ASUS old laptops running Win 7 and collecting dust.

Black Friday Wally World Gateway laptop (I think Gateway is oned by Acer now). Nice little lightweight machine, pretty barebpnes, one step above a tablet. I think I paid $125 for it new.

Chromebook from ASUS that I bought off of e-bay to mess with Chome OS. 8 GB RAM, 128 SSD. Again, nice little lightweight machine with all one needs for average daily use. Bought it off of e-bay for about $150, new unopened from BestBuy. (I didn't know BestBuy had an e-bay presence).

Then, like a moth to a flame.... a guy that works in electronics dept at my Wally World gave me the heads up for Qty 3, 21" HP all in one's that they found on the back in the back room.

This thing

https://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-All-in-One-Desktop-22-Intel-Celeron-G5900T-4GB-RAM-256GB-SSD-Blue-Windows-11-Home-22-df0013w/730657746

They were marking them down to put on clearance for $130. Why? I don't know... but I grabbed one before they put it out on the sales floor. It's not I like a need another computer but for $130, I couldn't pass it up. It's still in the box. I'll probably fire it up, get it's system updates, install some open source software stuff and donate it to the local boys and girls club in town.

I think I might need an intervention when it comes to buying computers that I don't need.

Trimmed a big tree in the backyard today and chopped all the big branches up so they will make a nice neat pile for bulk pickup day.

Then i sprayed an herbicide on the winter grass to slowly kill it off and let the summer grass emerge from it's slumber. Should take 3-5 weeks to die off, and since tempos are hitting the 80 (and more importantly my soil temps are over about 63), the summer Bermuda is going to want to wake up soon.

You are passing up a great opportunity to burn $hit in the fire pit while smoking a cigar, look up at the stars and contemplate the reason for life.

At least that's what I would do back in the day. Toddlers in bed after bath time, reading a couple books to put them to bed then me and the dog retire to the fire pit with a cigar. Listen to the wind, look at the stars, listen to the creatures of the night ruffling around at the tree line. Hopefully the mutt wouldn't run to the tree line to protect his "turf" and get sprayed by a skunk (happened 3 times, he didn't learn his lesson) or get ripped up by a fisher cat (almost happened once).

Monday morning folks. A nice 80 on tap and a busy week ahead. The Goodguys National car show, swap meet and autocross is this weekend so I need to get the Vette spiffed and we have relatives coming for about four days at the same time. Fugitives from the cold country that want to bask in the sun and see a few spring training games, hike the Sonoran desert and generally be out of the snow.

What's the old saying about visitors and fish?

Quiet and gray day so far. Forecast calls for a nor'easter tonight and all day tomorrow. Rain coming followed by heavy winds and a bunch of wet heavy snow through out the night and all day tomorrow. They are saying around 10-14" in my area. Possible power outages and downed power lines.

I have the day off so thawing out some NY strips. Cow flesh and roasted taters is on the menu for tonight.

Same proble. SquareTrade/Allstate is the warranty repair company. They damaged my touch pad and f'd up my operating system by upgrading form Windows 10 to Windows 11. I am taking it to my favorite local shop which will repair it in 5-6 days and SquareTrade/Allstate will reimburse me with a check within 5 business days. Hope you have better luck, RAM!
