Got a couple calls today. Last company I interviewed with, I'm in play in either a Manuf Engr position or a QC Engineer position. No decisions have been made yet so not counting my chickens. They said they would make a decision by the end of this week/beginning of next week. Hopefully one of the two pan out.

Got another call for an IT Admin job that I applied to for a local state university. Video screening interview scheduled for the March 20th after spring break. Entry level position but competitive salary. Would like to land this one too. Benefits are pretty nice. One beni is that if you're employed at the college, you, your significant other and dependent kids get either free tuition or discounted tuition in the state college/university system. Considering the way tuition is going that's a HUGE benefit.

The Walmart gig has served it's purpose with the freebies that they provided and I took full advantage of (free tuition for another BS degree, nice 401(k) matching, 15% match for employee stock purchase plan). I've milked them for a couple years now and I really need to get back into doing technical stuff and exercising my brain before I turn into a Walmart zombie

To be fair, wheel was about as tall as I am. Pretty sure he may have been a red **** hair taller than me, so 5'10" or 5'11" are not unreasonable.

My h.s. classmate has worked almost 20 years in IT at Chaminade University (…the same school that beat Virginia and Ralph Sampson back-in-the-day…) and one of his benefits is his kids being able to go there for $0 tuition, they only have to pay for the student fees and their books. His two kids went there so he’s saved thousands of $$$ and since you’ve enjoyed a similar benefit via Wally World, you know full well how great it is to not hafta shell out those buck$.

Looked at 3 trucks today. Struck out on all, should've spent more time looking at them online.

2018 F150 v6 but didn't realize it was the non-turbo v6. I'd try an ecoboost but not a NA v6.

2019 Ram 1500 this one did say v8 but 3.6L v8 so I figured it's either actually a 5.7 v8 or a 3.6L v6. It was the v6 and the truck didn't even have a hitch receiver.

2017 F150 5.0 V8 but it was black. I don't want another black vehicle but it was priced 30k and had some options like power seats and stuff and the FX4 package. BUT it had tan interior which was already pretty well stained. WEbsite did say black interior but I didn't look at pictures. I could live with it but for $30k I would rather not.

Need to find something by the first week of April or I've gotta sink serious money into my beater. Needs exhaust manifold/ cat assembly, the entire exhaust, and o2 sensors. I have to pass emissions before I can renew registration that expires in a month.

Time for a Long Drink, it's a citrus flavored 5.5% Alcohol drink from Finland, quite refreshing. Waiting for UPS to deliver the air pump for our new Air-Pedic mattress. The mattress came by freight truck this morning. The driver was happy to drag it into my pickup. I got it off, unpacked, and in place. Loaded the old (bad) memory foam mattress and hauled it to the dump where its final job is holding down yard cutting in a dumpster bin headed to the actual dump.

I just hope I didn't piss off my back, I'll know tomorrow for sure.

There is an old CBID posted photo of Wheel and Michael (I don't remember his last name)- he has a BMW motorcycle and was the person who posted about Wheel having passed. They were on a cruise and I think the photo showed them in suits or tuxedos, IIRC. If we can find out from Michael how tall he is, we can then approximate Wheel's height. May he rest in peace.

It did come muffler deleted by rust so it's never been quiet. But straight from the manifold is a bit obnoxious.

I think I'm gonna try to wait on buying a truck a bit. Prices are trending down and inventory up. Ordered tubing and flanges to make a new exhaust.

I think in MA public education and service systems are like those that you mention in CA. I know one kid working at Wally World that is going to college for free because his mom worked at the college he's attending. Plus he gets additional financial aid from a scholarship or something so he really doesn't have to work for money but his parents make him work a job. Good kid, smart, great work ethic. If I was a business owner, I'd hire him on those merits alone.

According to the job description's benefit package: "a choice of pension or 401(a), and supplemental plan retirement options."

Re: the tuition - "tuition remission for self, spouse, and dependent children"

Since my son will be graduating high school this coming spring and my daughter will be in 2 years, this is definitely a benefit that it's worth it's weight in gold. I'm not sure if it applies to the whole U-Mass system or just the specific college where you work at. I'd wash dishes for 6 years if it meant that both of my kids got free tuition for a 4 yr degree.

Not counting my chickens though, haven't even had the first screening interview yet.
