Currently 4° F (windchill of -5° F) with a predicted high of a balmy 14° F and partly sunny.

Got a mini blizzard last night. Heavy winds. Lost power for about 30 minutes. It was in the 50's with rain most of the day. It was only supposed to rain but temps dropped fast and ended up dumping about 6" of snow. Weather people screwed the pooch on their predictions.

Seems I caught a slight cold. Scratchy throat and snuffy sinus'.

Going over to a friends later this afternoon for Christmas Eve pig out then back home to chill.

Good Saturday Morning to all! It's up to 21° from 13° earlier this morning and the high is just 33°today.

There some undoubtedly cold duck hunters out on the river waking up the neighborhood this morning.

Had a deer hunter (60-ish guy) in a neighboring town that didn't come home last night. Got caught in the sudden change of weather. Authorities and citizens rallied to search the woods. Found him but not in time.

Pray

On man, that's a shame. Mother Nature is deadly. Pray for his family.

Hit 40 degrees. Pipes thawed. One exterior faucet that feeds water to the pool is cracked and leaking. It was well insulated but still busted. Handyman on the way over.

Water to the house is shut off.

Sucks HD. Glad you caught it.

I just spent two hours on a fifteen minutes project to replace the ice maker in a Samsung fridge. The swap was fifteen minutes but using a hairdryer on low to melt the iceberg on the cooling fan all the way in the back took an hour and forty five minutes...

Once I found the leak/geyser I was talking to the landlord and then he discovered he’s got a blown line also in his outdoor kitchen. We’re trying to get them both fixed tonight. Yay Christmas Eve!

In our Cali house we had a Samsung fridge with an ice maker problem. Home warranty tried six times to fix it by swapping in a new ice maker. Finally changed the entire motherboard and it worked perfectly ever since.

Still keeping more irons in the fire. Another local company wants to do a face to face interview after the holidays. Small company that bought some of Foster Grant's technology for optics, lenses and stuff. They are looking for a manufacturing engineer that can wear two hats of manufacturing and a QC guy. Not sure on this one. I think manufacturing and QC should be separate identities that work together and pseudo independent in order to keep the checks and balances. Having one person or a team that does both is kind of a conflict of interest (in my opinion).

Would get paid more with the engineering positions out there and where I have most of my professional experience but I'd like to cut my teeth in the IT stuff even if it pays less.

Do not sell. yourself short, Bucky

We have a Samsung refrigerator too. We will never buy another one again. Terrible ice maker problems requiring three replacements before the factory came out with an updated model sans defect(s). Also, bottom shelf is fixed in place so we cannot take it out to clean it. But, hey, what else do you have to do today and tomorrow? Remember, reservations are at 6:30pm tomorrow

Merry Christmas Morning! It's warmed up to 27° and the high today is supposed to be 40°, much better than yesterday.

Last night we went to our older son's MIL's house so I decided I needed to roast more coffee, I nearly froze. I even had to wrap the propane fired roaster in a towel, I was watching it, to insulate it enough to finish the roast.

Merry Christmas!

Robert is correct and you are too, if QC is not independent from production, there is a problem and can almost guarantee you'll be caught int he middle. Sounds like they want inspect quality in and that never works.

Gonna warm up to 22 today from our single digit early morning numbers and they are calling for a rise above freezing for a few hours Wednesday afternoon.
Yesterday's high here was the same as relatives in Maine had for their low.

Two 2lb flank steaks marinating in plastic bags in refrigerator for dinner tomorrow night.

Leaving soon for a new (to us) Chinese restaurant that is supposed to be the bomb. Reservations for eight at 6:30.

Every Christmas (for like 15 years or so) we do this with my buddy Larry's family when one or both of us aren't out of town; or he isn't called in- in which case he would get up and leave right away. Hope it doesn't happen.

From past experience with my wife’s family, an actual sit down Christmas Dinner is not in their DNA so we’re gonna an appetizer themed night. From what I understand, the dishes will be:

Goteborg musubis
Grilled shrimp
Grilled thin slices of ribeye
Mini Spam musubis for the kids
Potato salad (…not sure why / how that sneaked in there…)
Prime rib bites
Sliced Topshell
Somen salad
Sushi platter

My wife also made some sort of cream cheese - vanilla pudding dessert topped with blueberry and cherry split 50/50 and Cool Whip.

Also playing a couple of games (…Pictionary and something else…) for entertainment.

Probably won’t smoke a cigar tonight so gotta make it up tomorrow.
