For me, 55 degrees in September is too cold.
But on the first sunny, windless day in March, 35 is doable.

It's like the random 35-40 degree day we get in February. Motorcycles are out, windows are down, and coats are off. But 35-40 in September not a chance.

I can't wait for warm weather.

Done!

Drove it for 15 minutes the check engine light is off, my code reader thingy showing o2 sensor values within normal operating limits despite eliminating one catalytic converter.

Rather than cut and reweld the muffler I just sawzalled a chunk of bumper plastic away.

Weird how much less of a beater it feels like when it's quiet. Still a steaming rusty pile of chit.

Watching the snow fall. Heavy wet stuff. Just from looking out the window, I'd say we have about 18 or more inches by now. Periodic heavy wind gusts to go along with it. Wouldn't be surprised if some places in the area lose power from fallen tree limbs and downed power lines.

Of course there is no school for the kids and even the city busses are shut down (they usually run even in pretty crappy weather).

Mostly rain near the coast but will be changing over to snow later as the temps drop.

Maybe frank could drive out here and use his calibrated "measuring stick" for an official snow total.

I heard you got two feet...

probably true no matter what you think it means

Two feet sounds about right. There's a transformer thingy-ma-jig with a flat top about 30 yds away from one of my windows. I use a carefully calibrated squinted eye to measure the snow on top of said transformer-thing-a-ma-jig. Then considering the relative distance to said transformer thing-a-ma-jig, taking into account some surrounding points of reference and the miracle of the human brain, I'm able to to come up with reasonable guesstimate on the snow fall total. 2 ft is about right.

Looks like it's stopped snowing but forecast says there still be some more off and on overnight and we still have so blustery winds up here in the hills.

The steaming rusty pile of chit still works though and gets you from point A to point B. Seems like, for now, it's more reliable than that POS truck that gave you a lot of headaches to deal with.

Good morning
69/48 with a 49% chance of rain. Loving this weather compared to heat and humidity.

Took wife to airport this morning. She is going to Boston to visit her brother's family. I have zero interest in joining her, but just might go next year.

So, I am bachelor' till Sunday evening!!!

The walk was a little chilly. 42 degrees and I was wearing shorts, a tshirt and a fleece jacket. Would have been fine if the wind wasn't blowing. I think my nards crawled all the way up to my liver for warmth.

Out on my morning 5 miler and found a large landscapers cart stuffed in a desert culvert. The thing is larger than a wheelbarrow and costs over $300 new. I assume some kids stole it from some nearby home and ditched it so I asked around to anyone I saw. Ended up bringing it back home and put out a notice on the local Nextdoor site.

I am weeping a bit for the future generation.

I had something that someone needed to pick up at my office. He had my address. The whole thing, including the suite number.

Sometime in the multi-hour time range he gave for picking the item up, I get a call from him saying that he "went to where 'it' (presumably his phone's map app) took him but it's just a large plaza. My office building has it's own address, printed in large numbers ON THE BUILDING, and is one of the only two multi-story buildings in the entire plaza. Also, I know the maps apps puts the pin for the address directly on top of the correct building. He drove to the pin and then had compete vapor lock as to what to do next. I told him I was in the building with [insert street numbers here] on it, go to the XX floor and I am in suite XXX. Ten minutes later another call from him saying "I am in the building but I don't see you". I asked him what businesses he could see, and instantly knew he was in the wrong building, so I told him to walk across the courtyard, go into the other office building and come up to the XX floor, then go into suite XXX and ask the receptionist for me. It's a 5 minute walk, TOPS. I get another call a few minutes later asking, again, what floor I am on. 20+ Minutes later, I get a call from my receptionist that he is at the front desk. I meet him and give him what he needed to pick up. He is drinking a glass of water that my recpetionist offered him because he seemed out of breath. I walk back up to the front desk 5 minutes later and he is enjoying a cup of coffee that he asked my receptionist for. OK, I move on. 30 minutes later (after he finally left) I am joking with my recpetionist about the encounter and she confesses that he asked her out pretty much as soon as he walked in.

WTF?

Customers/clients: You can't live with them- you can't live without them.

Can't tell you how many time I walked outside my office and up the street to the main road just to waive people in. Sick

Funny thing to me is that if I expanded the location view of my office enough on my phone, I could see the marker move in as I walked around the office in real time!

Got double surgery at two sites on wifes foot coming in April or May. Out of work up to two weeks and then on a cart for four more weeks before she gets a boot. Might have to drive her to and from work every day. ram27bat

Basic Life Skills:

1. Find an address without navigation.
2. Hand-write a check.

It's too late for any of that. By like 15-20 years.

Immagine you making a cash register sale.

Can you count cash out of the register in your head- coins only first? Then put coins rounded up the next dollar into customers' hands? This followed by counting out bills- lowest to highest and then place them in the customers' hands.

I have not sen this in 20 years or longer. Really "gets my goat'... for a second or two.
