Computer monitors are inexpensive these days. I recently bought one on Amazon for like under $75 (24 inch LED, 1080P), but only 75 Hz - unless you are a video freak or a gaming freak 75 Hz is fine. Black Friday deals are in the swing and will be going on until Christmas. You'll be able to get LED monitors and TV's low to mid range for dirt cheap.
Friend of mine dropped off a Dell tower that he had no use for, It had Windows Vista on it (puke) so I scrubbed it and put on Windows 10 (wanted to do Linux or Chrome OS but most average people don't know how to use Linux of Chrome OS). It needed a monitor, keyboard, mouse and USB WiFi dongle to get it up to standard. Maybe cost me about $150 and a couple hours of work to install the needed OS, apps and stuff but it's solid and running. It just needs a new home to donate to someone in the area.
I need another computer like I need another hole in the head but I'm happy to take older ones. Upgrade them and give them away to people that need one. If I have it and don't need it, then it's yours to take.
Usually they just need one to surf the web, do email, the MS office stuff, online school and simple stuff like that. These don't require a ton of RAM, a ton of storage space, large processors or video cards. Simple things for simple tasks.
$hit the most basic flip cell phones have more computing power than what was used in the space modules to put the first man on the moon. Just think about that for a minute. We have come a long way win a short time.
