Sunday Sunday Sunday

Ripped the roof off the chicken coop, picked up new plywood decking and some steel roofing panels and replaced the roof. I'm happy with how it turned out. Couldn't believe the amount of ants in the old roof. I carried my big propane weed burner torch up the ladder to kill them all. Last time I replaced the roof I went over the previous roofing and the ants were living between the layers. The chickens loved the toasted ant treats though.

It is a challange to be consistent enough to hit 25 individual bullseye targets on one card. The American Rimfire Association, sponsor the matches, will frame your first 2500 target. She scored a 2450 on her second target, missing a second perfect score with one shot that was off by a less than a hair width. Unfortunatly, for her next four targets the wind and a painful back combined to drop her scores. I'm really proud of her shooting.

Happy Monday! Been soccer crazy lately, coaching 2 teams 3 days a week with 4 games a week. You think I would be getting in shape running around with these kids not not one bit.

Who do you mean by "god's chosen people," and what exactly do you mean by "diddling"?

was hoping to sleep in after a long Sunday cooking up a crab and shrimp boil for my daughter's birthday yesterday...first time experiment that turned out great...my daughter thought so highly of it she hugged me and said she loved me in front of everybody...embarrassed the heck outta me...

wife and I hosted a pool party in her honor...kids and grandkids every where...drank tequila and Sapporo...had a cigar with my son...didn't fall into bed til 0130hr, woke at 0540hr and was wide awake...can feel a crash coming on tonite...glad I'm retired on Mondays like these...

55 minutes of new this morning was enough.

Cruising along enjoying my early morning 5 miler and the nicest, calmest part of the day. The air is clean and the neighborhood is quiet, no traffic, temps only 70, all is peaceful ........

Yeah, and ya prolly don't power up at 6 am either. In my hood almost everyone has a lawn service instead of doing it themselves. Pedro and crew are out as soon as it's light enough to work. Different noise ordinances for time of day/night and dB levels but they are not supposed to start before 7am.

Happy belated to your daughter Delta. Sounds like a helluva party!

Damn, DED, that early? I wait until 10AM to run the mower/blower so I don't piss off my neighbors...

we've got worse noise polluters here than lawn mowers...there are several extremely loud Harley hogs, all ridden by old fat hairy good ol' boys, who enjoy revving the engines at stop signs and signals and cruising a gear too low to maximize the revs and sound...

Proper Florida lawn horticultural practice to avoid disease.

Humidity will still suck for you for like 2-4 weeks when you will start to get small cold fronts.

Doesn't matter location, buddy. Cutting grass while it is wet is bad for the grass and your lawn mower.

Get to go car shopping with my mom today. She totaled her vehicle a few weeks ago and wants to buy a car “fast”. Living in the country, I understand the immediacy. The push/pull is whether to try to manage the situation by slowing down her impulsive nature without getting her anxiety up.

In a move to get out of the way, I asked my sister if I should just let her do what she wants to do.

Her answer… I don’t know.

I remember car shopping for my grandmother years ago.. she showed me a very basic model of somethin or another.. I told her she needed somethin with an electric seat so she didn't have to sit on a pillow to drive.. car salesman says she doesn't mind sitting on a pillow.. so we leave and I tell her I'll be back in a week and we'll find a car then.. car salesman calls her the next day and offers to deliver her the car that requires pillow.. she bought it... without negotiating either...
