…eat an Oreo cookie first thing in the morning?

My wife thought I was crazy to eat one today before we ate breakfast. But hey, our granddaughters aren’t eating them fast enough so they’re going to go stale sooner rather than later. I mean, no sense throwing them out, right?

Anyone else have moments where your wife / SO gives you “the eye” when you do / eat / drink something in an unusual moment? Think

Deep fried Oreo, Bad.
Oreo straight up, no milk, borderline.
Oreo and milk, great decision.

“The Eye” has almost become her default setting.

That sounds like it might be good and something I will try in the near future minus the jelly. I like PB and banana sammiches, never thought of using a tortilla

Isn’t that one of Elvis’ (RIP) favorite combos? Think

I know when I first read about it, I thought “Oh, GROSS!” but have since changed my tune. I can easily omit the jelly and have been using crunchy cookie butter lately. To be healthy, of course I use 100% wheat bread. Laugh

Yep…

Think
It should be noted that there are some reputable sources that state the “Elvis” is supposed to have jelly as well.

I really like cheesecake

Odd thing for breakfast I eat is fried chicken. Most the women I’m around never really questioned my antics. Guess she assumes it goes along with my other strange behaviors 😂

I'm sure I'll get blasted for this, but here goes......

Nutter Butter > Oreo

And before breakfast is OK in my book.

Btw, the second worst decision I made yesterday was eating 3/4 of a family size box of Special K.

The worst decision was telling my wife out it.

Not sure I'm the best guy to get advice from. I love ice cream and I really like cigars...

Plus I made myself a rusty nail about 10 minutes before noon yesterday.

I stepped on a rusty nail once and hadda get a distemper shot...

My wife has stopped trying to guide my eating habits with stern looks...after more than 43 years she knows I'll do what I do and suffer the consequences within minutes to an hour...as I rush to the bathroom she does give me that smug "you never learn" look...

cold pizza with everything is the worst first thing in the morning, but I cannot resist...she'd prolly tell me I shoulda eaten an Oreo cookie instead...

HA!

He's in the dog house, anyway...

Lemme tell ya, brother Al... my mom did not heed the doctor's advice with respect to type 2. Ate what she wanted and progressed to insulin shots from pills. Then just upped the dose when she wanted sweets.

And then her vision started deteriorating, and then her organs, and then she gave up. Just before 74. Please, bruddah... listen to your wife and the doctor.

I hear you Shawn. I will put more effort in to watching my diet: cut the carbs, the processed junk, and the sweets. More fruits and veggies and proteins...check

I've re-started single malt scotch again so I've gotta limit that to an ounce or two once or twice a week. Moderation is the key...check

Exercise regularly...4-5 mile walking every day. Light dumb-bell workouts once/twice a week...check

Monitor blood glucose daily to ensure it's in safe range...check.

Get blood work done every 6 months to ensure blood A1C count is in acceptable range, more frequently if results aren't in the zone...check.

Monitor weight to ensure BMI is below obesity level...check.

I know what to do...just have to be disciplined and follow through. But it is really helpful to have friends who will remind you to stay on or near the path, and rein you in if you get off track. Thanks, Bro!

You may have to give brother Ant a nudge too. He has a tendency to get off track...

Kaiser has a very good diabetes treatment program... blood and urine tests regularly.... retina exams annually...foot exams regularly. They schedule RN telephone sessions to discuss diets, blood test results, health in general. On-line library of diabetes related educational resources. They want to make sure you stay healthy.

This morning, while she was busy with one of our granddaughters, ate a couple of chocolate chip mac nut cookies. Even dipped them in my coffee. Life is goooood! ThumpUp
