This guy- 'MS of Kingsport TN', crept in at the last second. Fairplay means nothing to him.

Saw you watching the auction. Because of your lack of trust, I made a last moment bid.
My shpo was protecting me.

Next time, bid higher.

Set your max bid at about 3x what your hoped-for price is and you will never lose in such a humiliating way again.

It's called sniping, and it happens all the time.

What were you bidding on?

I got sniped tonight on some Oliva O, Oliva G and Oliva Master Blend. Damn snipers. Oh well. That is part of the game. I don't buy from here to often but once and a while I check them out. My basic bidding strategy is looking at what I like then placing my max bid at 65% of what they are asking for at CI (mother ship).

If I win, that's nice. If I lose, no biggie. Oh well. I have too many already and shouldn't be looking for more but it's an itch that needs to be scratched now and then.

Snipers don't believe in foreplay.

I love auctions, but too many people think they are the only bidder or get confused thinking they are making a standard purchase at a set *price. An auction is not over until the last bidder bids or his maximum bid is reached.

* Their price. LOL

Ziggy has been here 8+ years…
The juevos on this dude……..to be here that long……..and then limp in to the Forum to whine about getting sniped.

Ziggy! Grow a pair!
There is NO “fair play” in the cigar bidding arena………or in life for that matter.
Nothing but savages and real men here who feast on cupcakes like you.

Set your bid higher, and walk tall.

However I generally stop bidding on something if a brother I know (and like) is bidding on.it.

+1
I’ve passed on a box of CH La Imperiosas Corona Gorda once or twice, because a botl here got there first.
Pretty sure he let me slide a time or two as well.

Lost out on all of my bids this week. These are probably my first bids on here for over a year. My 67% rule didn't pan out but I wasn't expecting anything great. If I win, fine. If I don't that's fine too.

La Gloria Cubana Serie R Maduro No. 5 (robusto)
I love these things. I think I have only 10 left. I haven't bought any in a while so I don't know if they are the same as they were. Probably should restock theses. (Shrug) it was worth a try.

5 Vegas Classic Corona - Box of 25
These are not in my wheelhouse but I know someone new to cigars so I felt like it would be an OK starter cigar to give him to try to get him hooked. I do like some of the 5 Vegas stuff but the classic is not my preferred choice.

CAO Brazilia Gol! - 5-Pack
Used to smoke these a lot back in the day before they sold out to Scandinavian Tobacco. I really liked a handful of the CAO stuff years ago so I thought I'd give them a try again.

Rocky Patel Sungrown Maduro Robusto - 5-Pack
I was really into RP stuff decades ago. The sungrown, when it first came out, worked for me. I haven't had one in a long time and blends have changed so I thought I'd give it a try.

Rocky Patel Vintage '92 Churchill
Another that I liked years ago. I don't think I have anymore left so thought I'd put in a bid on them to see if they are still worth bidding on.

Oh well, I didn't win them. They were just a trial and error thingy. Win some and lose some.

I miss the days when you could get Padron and Bucanero (RIP) cigars here at discount prices.

All is fair in love, war and cigar bidding.

I’ve sniped and been sniped so been on both sides of the coin.
