Paul Reubens, the actor and comedian whose Pee-wee Herman character — an overgrown child with a tight gray suit and an unforgettable laugh — became a 1980s pop cultural phenomenon, has died at 70.

Quote:
Pee-wee Herman is a comic fictional character created and portrayed by American comedian Paul Reubens. He starred in films and television series during the 1980s. The childlike Pee-wee Herman character developed as a stage act that quickly led to an HBO special in 1981.

Wife just told me in the car a few hours ago.

Weird part is she shared two peewee ticktock videos with me last night. One was his dont do crack commercial, and the other was from the playhouse but overdubbed with porn scripts.

RIP Peewee

Bummer.

Loved the show and the movies he was a part of.

Used to use his Playhouse show as my weekend wake up ritual. Add a bowl of cereal and I was set for the Word of the Day.

RIP

Pee Wee was AWESOME....

WAY AHEAD OF ITS TIME...

A TOTALLY ORIGINAL CONCEPT....

I was amazed that the TV ( ABC? CBS? NBC? )
LET HIM RUN SCOTT FREE with his own original idea...THE artwork, set design, photography in fast modes, just really original cutting edge stuff...

It was really out there on the edge of NEW IDEAS AND CONCEPTS...& HE WAS PERFECT AT HIS CHARACTER...

THE PEE WEE movie....
Showdown....
" I know you are but what am I"
Is classic...his argument with the bossy bully ...

Lawrence Fishburn had his start on that show as
"Cowboy Curtis?" And Phil Hartman / SNL COMIC WAS an original character on that show...

His "DEREK FUREAL" CHARACTER on the Johnny Depp
"BLOW" MOVIE was a great performance by him also...

R.I.P.
PEEWEE

A TRULY ORIGINAL STORY AND LIFE...
