two things:
1. i'm wondering why bush himself isn't crowing about this if it's so known ("we DID find 'em! see? we DID find 'em!"). pre-war he was certain. during-war, eh, he's not so sure. why isn't he aware of this man's intel affirming their existance?
HOWEVER!...
2. i am STILL -- truly -- suspending judgment on the issue. i will not say that iraq did not have WMD's, as i realize the logistics searchers face are all kinds of difficult (if not impossible). it's a lot of territory, and it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.
HOWEVER!...
3. i expect our president to be truthful and to NOT get up on a stage and say "we know 100% for sure" that there are WMD's, and "we know where they are" if it's not 100% factual. i expect our president not to commit the lives of our troops to a "maybe."
HOWEVER!...
4. i support the war in iraq totally -- not because of the WMD's ruse but because saddam needed killin'. :) seriously, i am glad that we invaded, and i think that ousting saddam and injecting at least the OPTION of freedom and democracy there is worthy on its own. we didn't NEED the WMD excuse.
aside from that, lemme tell you why i DO think we went. it wasn't for WMDs. it wasn't for oil. it wasn't for W's re-election. i think we went there -- and i've heard it from enough people at high enough levels to believe it -- to establish a US base there. and that, to be honest, is not a sucky thing. i just wish we didn't have to go through a game of charades to get there.
