This Million Mom March was little more than a huge gathering of group therapy, it made them feel good. It was filled with emotion and passion, and little regard for the facts. I am not a gun toting type myself and I have studied the issue from both sides, and it becomes pretty obvious that the anti gun type's arguments are filled with this emotion and passion, not to mention being coy and deceptive. (for one this business about 13 kids killed every day buy guns rubbish) Why can't they just be honest and come right out and say they want a ban on guns? Instead they twist facts, create stats out of who knows where, and many being just plain dishonest. Many of these moms probably have the best of intentions, but I have come to the point where I just don't believe anything when it comes out of the mouths of these zealots like Clinton or other high profile anti gunners. On the gun rights side, there is also a fringe that is why out in left field, but otherwise their arguements are founded on logic and clear thinking, like the writings of Yale professor Lott. Violent crime in this country has been dropping, despite Columbine, our schools area about the safest place on this planet to be. But they way anti gunners talk crime is out of control. The anti gun types want more and more laws, (did anyone at this march call on Clinton to enforce the laws in place already?) which only will punish the law abiding, until they reach their goal, or a Stalin comes along for the final coup. Here in Colorado they want to close this so called gun show loophole. To many this seems like a feel good thing to do, but actually is very dangerous for it would in effect make all private gun transactions, even if you want to give a gun to your brother or sell a gun to a neighbor, illegal unless a background check is used. In effect it would ban all private gun transactions, again, this punishes only the good law abiding citizens. There are 300 million guns in circulation in this country, criminals will always be able to get them.
