81818: LGC Wavell Natural Rob - this one didn’t smoke well. One side was hard charcoal and the other side canoed on me. Very tight draw.
81819: RP 15th Anniversary Churchill Black Pepper on light up, lots of coffee grounds and milk chocolate in first half, occasional hits of anise. Green pepper popped in and out in last half. Into the final third it fizzled out and tasted a bitter.

Nice wrappers on these Fugazis. This is the second blend I tried of the Fugazi sampler and its pretty good. Well worth the $2 I paid for it.

81824 Warped Cloud Hopper no. 53

Starting off dry and woody with a cinnamon toast finish. Slightly astringent, not my thing but I'll keep on. Slight bite on retrohale but not much. 2 ash drops in, it's improved. Astringency is gone but it's still fairly dry. Only has two weeks of humidor time. Halfway it got a bit richer in texture, the cinnamon toast turned more graham cracker, the wood remained with a nice spice blend but the dryness subsides to a very nice cigar. It's good. I'll add it to the box list when I find one on sale. They come in cabs tho, so maybe just fiver/tenski sales buy.

After I typed this out I thought I'd had this one and said I'd get a box. Had to go back and I sure did: https://www.cigarbid.com...00000-Vol-II#post4756506

81830 - DE LP Aniversario 10 toro. It has some new criollo wrapper from the Conn. river valley, but I would have never guessed it was criollo. Not that I am that good at guessing, but except for one puff in the middle, it didn't have that creamy flavor I associate with criollo.

I have 10 pack of the compare to OXFF, 5.6x46 coming in a day or two. Looking forward to them. Kind of hoping (I choose optimism) that it's a great $3 cigar

My first JdN cigar ever. This is supposed to be a firecracker but this one didn’t burn properly and had notes of lemongrass and lavender with little to no body and zero strength. I am pretty sure the rest of them will be better than this one.

81849 - Aladino Corojo c/o Mjrburn

Couldn’t help myself to lighting this one up given the hype I’ve heard here. Absolutely stellar. So good I used the telenubber prison shank to smoke it down to a half an Inch. This one had been aged for a year and a half. Any idea how these smoke ROTT? I don’t have the patience nor the storage capacity that y’all do. I usually only age sticks for 2-4 months before enjoying them. Thanks for a great smoke, Marcus!

Patience young grasshopper.

I’ve been a JRE Aladino Corojo fan for 5 years now and the earliest I smoked one is 4 weeks so of no help as far as your ROTT question. However, as you already experienced, a fully rested one is excellent so buck-up buckeroo. Be patient, wait a few weeks and you’ll be rewarded.

How are they after 4 weeks? I can wait four weeks, I just can’t wait a year. All I have is one 20 stick tupperdore and a 40 (ish) stick desk humidor, so aging for 2+ years isn’t on the table (at this time). I think my average rest time is 2-4 months.

Oops! Upon further review, the one I smoked after "only" 4 weeks was acquired via a trade so not quite the same as coming from an online retailer. The shortest time for that was 6 weeks and in my notes I said it was good.

Fo' sure your 60-ish total storage capacity needs an upgrade. Stogie pointed the way for one solution, you may want to check your closest Wally World or similar and price out a mid-sized Igloo cooler. Either way, good luck!

I usually start smoking these within a few weeks of getting them. I’ve had this one a few months. I could taste a much stronger mineral taste, a hint of salt and leather, but the coffee and cocoa notes were not there. I still enjoyed it. Perfect burn, draw.

One of the fun things about this hobby is figuring out when’s the best time to smoke a cigar. Sometimes it’s years before they peak, others are best younger but within a couple to 5-ish years before they lose their best traits. In the case of your LGC, could be that there’s a small window for them to be tasty but similar to Cubans, after that window passes, there’s another one where the tobaccos need to meld (…aka “sick period”…). You’ll hafta experiment and see if you prefer a fresh LGC or one with, perhaps, years of rest. Good luck in your search.

Old band. Last one from an inventory clearing by SRH1 back in 2014. Lotta life left. Lots of chocolate, easy draw and burn has been impeccable.

Good night to celebrate. MIL’s 98th birthday was yesterday and today is our granddog’s 12th.

81854 Crowned Heads le Patissier short rob. Saw boxes on sale, I bought this single to see if I liked em. Only 3 weeks humidor time may be a hindrance but it was all in my desktop so 3 is usually sufficient.

First few puffs are unimpressive. Bitter nuttiness, peppery retro, burnt toast.

It got a little better after the first ash drop but this is too heavy for my tastes. "The baker" made me think sweet and savory but this is more bakers cocoa and walnuts with some burnt bread. I was expecting sweet and savory, instead got heavy, dark, and bitter. I don't think its bad, and I feel time would be kind to these.

I only made it halfway through this one. Not bad but not gonna be adding more to my hoarde.

81855: Erik Espinosa 601 Blue Maduro BP Robusto

81856: RyJ Romeo Toro mild spice, toast, molasses, nutty. Nice 2nd 3rd transition. Flavors were there but hard to find, the savory sweetness was bold. Didn’t produce a lot of smoke for such a large cigar

81857: AVO No. 3: First outside cigar of the year! Paired with the malty Colorado Native Winterfest. More "authentic" Connie flavors and less pepper than the last one. First third, Connie flavors with a hint of cedar. Second third more soft pepper emerges with the cedar. Needed a few relights but maybe that is due to the nice breeze. Final third, more creaminess in the mix of soft pepper and cedar. Great cigar for a nice sunny Colorado day.

81858 Sobremesa Bruleé. Turning into a tradition to smoke a CT shade while I got meats in the smoker. I didn't think I'd like this one based off the sweet tip rumors and a few scathing reviews I've seen in social media. But I got one in a blind sampler and figured I had to smoke it on bbq day.

Not loving it like I did JTS aged Sobremesa. It has potential but it's an angry young Connie. Lots of sinus singing pepper. But way at the finish there's the wonderful sweet creamy notes that linger. I think with some sleep this is a CT that would hold up nicely to age. It's one DTT that seems to slip onto pretty decent sales listings so I'll grab some to bury if they're cheap enough. Nothing here super special, it's an average top shelf CT shade.

Haven't the experience with them to say. But I looked at reviews just now and found this

Sweet San Andres wrapper with a bit of earth…i love this flavor. Sweet and I thought medium strength, full bodied and lots of smoke. First third has a fruity retro that is a dead ringer for Dr. Pepper. Middle third was simply sweet and savory with just enough creaminess occasionally to make me want that flavor more. Final third any hint of creaminess is gone, Dr. Pepper left the building at transition into 2nd 3rd, now a staggering molasses earth with a woody smoke that I can’t pin down.
