Cucumbers sound cool and refreshing, for those brothers baking in the southern quarter of the country.

Cool cucumbers are the best! I've been picking a dozen crisp delicious pickling cucumbers from my garden every day recently. Loving it. While they are delicious right off the vine, chill them and they are fantastic. So good.

Sorry to say I hate cutumbers in any form. To me they taste like watermelon rinds and I won't even order a salad if they are any part of it.

That said, I sure could go for some cold rainier cherries about now.

My preferred deity has left me here to simmer and is not listening to my pleas for relief. Another 92/116 day and the forecast is about the same for another week. Thinking of switching deities.

Happy Friday to you worker types and us layabouts.

Nah, Olympus wi-fi connection is chit, 'cause of the remote location and interference with Zeus tossing lightning around all willy-nilly

I just removed 1.5 lbs of shrimp from the freezer to prepare tonight.

Sauteed or corn starch fry, that is the question.

I pulled out one of the 10 pounds I hauled up here in the Yeti. Mom likes em baked in the oven with Zatarains seasoning. Served with jalapeño flour tortillas. Taco Friday!

Kinda solid food, thank goodness. Brick wall

Good Friday Morning to All! It's a clear 77° on the way to 94° today, 81% humidity after a heavy thunderstorm blew in last night. Leaves on the driveway here, a buddy had a tree fall on his house.

I just looked him up. I think that is the deity 8track contracts with but he has a pretty big downside about January. Ra has been good for about 8 months of the year (well, cept for the skin cancer screenings) but sacrificial virgins are getting hard to come by. I just need to find a deity with a month to month supplemental plan.

Depending on the size, boil a few, make a cocktail sauce and have some shrimp cocktail for your appetizer course. Iffin’ large enough, we would probably tempura the rest (…I know, I know, that wasn’t the answer to your question…).

I'm a big fan of cucumbers. I prefer those with "meat" on them rather than those with that mushy seed stuff in the middle. I didn't do a garden this year but when I do one, cukes are always grown and I pick them before they get too fat and mushy.

Cucumber salad is one of my favs. Sliced cukes, diced onion, pinch of salt, pinch of pepper, pinch of sugar, some vinegar, some dill weed. That's my foundation but I have no specific recipe. I just know how much I like of mixture of stuff that I like. If I have it readily available I'll add some blue cheese or feta cheese crumbles too. Let it marinade over night in the fridge then it's ready to go.

Some folks like slices of radish in it. I'm on board with that. Some like sliced cherry or grape tomatoes added, I'm OK with that since I'll just pick out the tomatoes.

Pickled cukes, commonly known as pickles are a favorite condiment of mine for burgers and stuff. Gotta be dill pickles though. Those sweet or bread and butter pickles (as they call them) could go extinct for all I care.

Some wicked loud and stormy thunder storms passing over the area. Had a big lightning strike pretty close from here just as I type this.

All clear now in MA. No need to water the garden today. Looks like it's going to be a beautiful weekend.
