I set up my coolador about three days ago because I'm outgrowing the old humiodor. Haven't worked out the kinks quite yet. Couldn't find the oasis foam so I bought a sponge at the grocery store. It reeked of the odor of scouring pad soap so I didn't dare use it. Got another sponge which didn't stink but it didn't seem to work to get the humidity up. Finally moistened a clean wash cloth and put it on top of the sponge. Now I get 80+ percent RH near the sponge and 60+ RH on the other side of the cooler. Is that typical? Maybe things will stabilize in a few more days? I haven't acquired the PG yet. You should have seen sidelong glanced I got from the pharmacist when I asked for PG. I don't think anyone ever asked him for that before. Then he warned me that PG is toxic but I think he was thinking of ethelyne... not Propelyne Glycol.

You can buy oasis foam at a florist shop if you don't have a craft store around you.

should be no problem finding it at Michaels or any other similar craft store ... failing that, swing by a florist ...

Hey Rick,

I think I've added the 50/50 mix to my coolerdor 3 times in the 9 months I've been utilizing it. It seems the Rh has remained a pretty constant 71%. I'll air it out for an hour or so, shuffle the smokes and close the lid and Voila! within an hour the Rh is back to norm again.

the pg doesn't evaporate. just add a little distilled water to the oasis when it feels dry on top.

once a year should be enough to recharge with the 50/50 pg.
