Looking for recommendations on corojo cigars. Anything rolled with the original corojo, not one of the hybrids. Apparently few if anyone grows it anymore due to it being susceptible to disease.

Anth have a look at some Illusione offerings.
They do often stuff Criollo in there, but they might have some with mostly corojo?

Thanks Horst. It's been awhile since I had one of them, but I do remember them being in my wheelhouse.

When Erioa had Camacho the Corojo Churchill was my go to. Davidoff changed the blend and I haven't cared for them since.

Conan is right.

If the Camacho corojo is what you're after Eiroa still makes "it" under JRE/Aladino

Conan sent me a bunch and I bought a ton. It's what you're looking for. It's what I was looking for a couple months ago too

Thanks guys. Did a little research. Seems the Aladino brand uses the same corojo seed that was used in the Camacho Corojo before Christian sold to Davidoff. The Corojo line uses wait for it, corojo for the wrapper, binder and filler. That was the same blend as the Camcho Corojo. So, I pulled the trigger on a 5-pack of the churchill's. Delivery is scheduled for Wednesday.

Yup. My unrefined palate couldn't distinguish it from my memory of the Camacho Corojo. I bought two boxes and one's almost gone.

I loved the CAO Criollo but I haven't bought any CAO in a long time.

Edit: You said Corojo... (hey Bucky, can't you read?) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HE6EP3Z0PSU

The fiver came in today. I guess in about a month I'll try one and determine if I'll be buying a box (1 lol).

Lit up a Camacho Corojo Nacionales for tonight’s smoke. Amazed how good this has remained since getting them in 2015 from the clearance sale from another vendor. According to the “stats”, the tobacco crop year was 2006 and rolled in 2007. I know the rest of the box won’t retain the strength and flavor forever so gonna hafta smoke them sooner rather than later.

Just fired up one of the Aladino Corojo churchill’s I ordered. Couldn’t wait a month as originally planned. 🤷‍♂️

I’m about an inch into it and I feel pretty confident I’ll be ordering a few boxes very soon. It seems to taste exactly as I remember the Camachos tasting. The problem is the cigars arrived a bit over humidified so I want to let one dry out a bit then ash it just to be sure.

Thanks for the heads up. I’m pretty sure I found what I was looking for.
