110,000 Iowans chime in. Followed by NH which is 42nd in population.

Most are suggesting it is over after those thwo states.

Well, I guess the other 48 states are a waste of time.

Tell me how this makes sense.

Yeah, I hear you. North Carolina, New York, and Florida have all kept Dean Phillips off of their ballots. North Carolina, they did it against their own election laws.

Word is Phillips will get onto ballots in 40 states. He could bloody Biden’s nose.

Don’t know where RFK Jr fits in.

The quick answer is dumber than a pre-schooler. Though I should probably say less educated than….

On a national front lately the DNC has used it as a way to shoe horn in their preferred candidates by limiting access. As far as the Republicans I don’t think they have a clue why the use it or to what end.

But what truly flares the hemorrhoids is that it limits choices on Election Day. Down here the legislature just held a special session. The first bill passed was one to go from an open to a closed primary. The newly elected governor is a proponent of such a system. So if it hasn’t all already he’s sure to sign it shortly.

Going forward we will only have two choices for each position on the ballot. Chit and chittier. Since the trend is a mostly Republican representation in statewide offices they did this because they were concerned DEMS would cast ballots for a non-establishment Republican candidate in an important race during the primaries. The fear was by them doing so it would prevent their hand picked candidates from reaching runoff spots during the general elections.

Why shouldn't people be able to vote in the primaries for the person they intend to vote for in the general election?

Agreed. Is it bad that all those Democrats in Iowa voted for Trump because they know once he's a felon (once or twice over) he'll lose a quarter of his support and Biden wins?

Dems are outplaying the Republicans.

I don’t think it’s necessarily a problem but pretending it’s natural growth of support for Nikki is a lie….acknowledge that and then a convo can start in earnest.

The # I saw quoted most often was 37%. That is the percentage of Independents in the state. Or, the % of people not registered as Republicans or Democrats.

Is it so hard to fathom her doing well with Never Trumpers, moderate Republicans, Independents and people who either like her or what she stands for to do well in NH?

Don’t think the Austrian was a Christian. Think he exceeded the semi part.

At least there haven’t been any candle lit marches chanting anti-Jewish rhetoric.

Haven’t heard that chanted by Cheeto supporters…did I miss something? Or is this another outlier to shoehorn a disliked group?

yet they truly hate Jews...cuz they truly are Nazis...and they truly are Trumpers.
That has no relationship to non haters who truly are Trumpers, but it does counter my friend Jamie's post.

More important than that...are they the only Trumpers also worried about our Blood Poisoning crisis?
I mean, c'mon people! I heard there are good people in their group...

"My Party Is Completely Delusional": Dean Phillips Destroys Democrat Demagoguery Of Republicans After Attending Trump Rally

2024 Democratic hopeful Dean Phillips attended a New Hampshire Donald Trump rally this week, where he said he met "thoughtful, hospitable and friendly' people waiting in line, "All of them so frustrated that they feel nobody is listening to them, except Donald Trump."

"I saw the line of people waiting in the cold for hours, and I thought, ‘What the heck, I’m going to be a leader who actually invites people, doesn’t condemn them,'" he said. "I met probably 50 Trump people waiting in line. Every single one of them: thoughtful, hospitable, friendly."

"My party is completely delusional," Phillips continued, adding "And somebody had to wake us up, and if that’s my job, so be it."

Phillips' words echo those of JPMorgan Chase Jamie Dimon's recent CNBC interview where he stated that Democrats need to be more respectful when talking about MAGA.

"Just take a step back—be honest—he was kind of right about NATO, kind of right about immigration,” Mr. Dimon said. “He grew the economy quite well. Tax reform worked. He was right about some of China. ... He wasn’t wrong about some of these critical issues, and that’s why they’re voting for him."

Because they are fellow citizens, Democrats should refrain from disparaging Trump voters as they have been doing, he said.

One host agreed, saying it’s “hard to hate 75 million of your fellow Americans.”

Mr. Dimon said that framing Trump supporters as “deplorables” who are “hugging onto their Bibles and their beer and their guns” is not going to help Democrats.

“I mean, really, could we just stop that stuff and actually grow up and treat other people with respect and listen to them a little bit?” Mr. Dimon said. “I think this negative talk about MAGA is going to hurt Biden’s election campaign.”

‘Get in the Game’

Later in the Mr. Phillips interview, the reporter asked, “But you would rather have though have Biden in the White House again than Trump in the White House, yes?”

“Of course,” he said. “Absolutely.”

She then asked if Mr. Phillips’ bid for the White House has made President Joe Biden stronger “because that was one of your goals.”

“Have you succeeded in that?” she asked.

“I’m trying to extend an invitation to the president to get in the game because if you want to be the president again, the only way to even possibly win is to get out there,” he said. “Listen to voters.”

She pressed on, asking if his bid for the White House made President Biden “stronger or weaker.”

The Democrats have surrendered “hundreds of hours of prime-time TV” over to Republicans because they have a competitive race, he said.

“If Democrats had a competitive race right now, which I’m trying to create, we would have energy,” he said.

However, President Joe Biden, he said, “is doing nothing.”

“And if he’s not going to debate, if he’s not going to answer questions . . .. How many interviews has he done? He’s not doing town halls. He’s not showing up. So, yes, I’m trying to do him a favor to show up.”

Mr. Phillips said he would back President Biden “in a heartbeat” if he would “get in the game.”
‘He Might Beat Biden’

Trump recently stated at his rally in New Hampshire that the Democrats at the New Hampshire primary should vote for Mr. Phillips.

“He might beat Biden, wouldn’t that be nice? I think Democrats should vote for the congressman just to send a signal [that] you don’t abandon us. Nobody is going to abandon New Hampshire,” he said.

Mr. Phillips has been critical of President Biden’s absence in active debates and campaigning, as well as his absence in New Hampshire, where he didn’t register to be on the ballot.

“The fact that we’re not having a spirited competition, the fact that the president is not campaigning, means we are simply handing over hours of prime time television to every single GOP candidate,” he said.

The Union Leader, New Hampshire’s largest newspaper, backed Mr. Phillips in an editorial published on Jan. 22, calling him a “reasonable alternative” to President Biden.

“For anyone who supports Joe Biden for his policies but would prefer a president born during the Vietnam War rather than WWII, they will not be disappointed with Dean Phillips,” the editorial said.

Am about halfway through the Honestly with Bari Weiss where she is interviewing Dean Phillips. Hers part of the write up..

We're less than two weeks out from the first Democratic Primary in New Hampshire, and the mood among Democrats is grim. Joe Biden is polling behind Trump in almost every national poll. And the feeling among Democrats is well, there’s just nothing we can do about it.
Enter Dean Phillips: the one lone soldier Democrat trying to make a last ditch effort to stop the 2020 rematch from hell.
Dean is a moderate Democratic Congressman from Minnesota. He has political experience, but not the baggage of a long career in DC. He’s known as an incredibly bipartisan politician. He’s a philanthropist, a business magnate (who makes gelato of all things), a husband, and a father. But maybe, most importantly, he's a spry 54. By many metrics, he has what everyone claims to want in a Democratic presidential nominee.
He also offers an alternative for the American voter who feels alienated by both parties. As Peter Savodnik reported this week in the FP, “nearly half of Americans today identify as independents—not necessarily because they’re centrists, or moderates, but because neither party reflects their views.”

He’s under 75, so he’s already an automatic semi consideration for most Americans. He’s got big ideas, which is fantastic. Paying for them….. I’m not sure he has a handle on that.

Hope Democrats and people who lean Democratic listen and vote for him to get Biden out of the running.

The Far Right won’t consider him (He’s Jewish). Those people don’t want to be replaced. They are too caught up in the Charlottesville Web 🕸️🕷️.

Well, isn't that sweet.

Don't care if he's Jewish, Black, Zebra Stripped, Mongoloid or non-verbal...I won't be voting for him because he's a Democrat. Over. Done. NEVER coming back. EVER. I'm not dumb enough to think they're all evil, but after BLM, Impeachment, Impeachment 2.0, Jan. 6th Panel, Anti-Israel stance, the Border Invasion, mandates from everything to clotshots to gas stoves...no. Done. They march in lockstep just like Nazis soldiers did into Paris. Circle the wagons tighter than a starving boa on an unattended 2 day old baby's neck. There aren't enough Dean Phillips to make me consider the party serious. The entire Charlottesville reference is another reason too. NOBODY plays the Race Card better than a DNC tool. Since I've been alive I've watched the DNC destroy America from within. I hope that it's not too late, because NOBODY is coming to save us. If anything, when it seems all is lost...the world will come en masse and finish the job the DNC started.

"At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide."
