One big advantage of a prism sight, it still functions in normal light with a dead battery.

Yup.

I love my PA Cyclops with the ACSS reticle, well my daughters…

If you get a dot I’d say don’t bother if it doesn’t have “shake awake”.

Tell the class which gun you chose, and how much was it?

You can make one if you have tools and woodworking skills, or you can get a lip feeder, or electric. I do it the old fashioned way. Sounds like you’ll have time to research optics, the prisms are a bigger investment. Mounts are another ball of wax btw, PA come with them.

It’s ok, but stay away from Winchester white box. I saw PSA has that Valor at a good price, what is your barrel twist rate?

Also another good option for loading:

Pistol version is available on Jeff Bozos place.

55grains or higher, 62 to 77 is probably going to be best at that twist rate. That Sig is short stroke piston? Pretty cool, not going to be quite as accurate as direct impingement but should work out great!

Need some range ammo that is 62 grain and not green tip. That will not break the bank. Any thoughts?

I was looking at this but don’t want it to blow up on me at the range and make me shot my pants.

Primary Arms had some nice 3x9 and 4-18 scopes with 30mm tubes on close out recently if you were putting them on a bolt gun. If you can wait, Black Friday is the time to buy pretty much any parts.

Just ordered me an AR-15 this morning, need a good scope (wish Nikon still made them). Think I’m gonna go tactical with this one (flashlight, laser, etc), even though not that big into that whole scene.

50 Beowulf,PSA lower receiver, Enhanced Polished Trigger, Black Magpul grip and Magpul stock. The upper is assembled with a 18" Heavy Parkerized Barrel, 1:20T, Side charging handle, BCG, Mid Length Gas System, 13" Fortis Nighthawk Handguard, and DB Tac Shark Muzzle Break.

A scope for .50 Beowulf? That’s like an intermediate cartridged .45-70

You know it drops 50 inches at 300 yards?

I had a .50 Beowulf, actually a 12.7x42 so they didn't have to pay to use the copyrighted name. It was very accurate out to 100 yards. I installed a retro one-piece AR stock with the storage door built into the shoulder pad. Put in a weight from Brownells, made to sort of fit in the compartment, and it was a really fun shooter. A cannon-style brake helped too. I gave it to my younger son to pass on to his son who really enjoyed shooting the thing.

I thnk I insyalled a 7 or 8 power scope.

Starline makes brass, it is expensive to feed factory ammo.

What distance did you get out to? Yeah this is definitely one I’d reload for.

For paper targets 100 yards. We used to have a heavy plate at 200 yards, I could ring the plate pretty easily.

Yeah I guess a lower power scope would be ok, but I’m a sucker for 1-3x for 200 and in.

I do like magnification, but for accuracy, not tactical purposes; I use 25x for shooting 50-yard benchrest targets.

A shame for Hornady and we can no doubt thank F'tard Cursing biden for the loss of Lake City production, it's probably going to arm all the new IRS agents. Cursing Cursing Cursing
