As a little kid, he was the first player I ever feared. Thought he'd hurt the Packers. Was a wounded Bear toward the end- his knee if I remember right.

Knew how to market himself with those Miller Lite conmmercials too.

Another great, I did not see mentioned above from back in the day was Ray Nitschke, former Packers player. Well chit, I maybe dating myself.

He was friends with my uncles parents. When they got married butkus bought them a pool table. I never met the guy. Didn't know he was a sports player I just thought he had an unfortunate name.
