'X-Files-Like Mystery' In Texas As Cattle Found Dead With Missing Tongues

Ranchers in Madison County, about 100 miles southeast of Waco, found the mutilated remains of a 6-year-old longhorn-cross cow lying on her side at their ranch.

Madison County Sheriff's Office said, "A straight, clean cut, with apparent precision, had been made to remove the hide around the cow's mouth on one side, leaving the meat under the removed hide untouched. The tongue was also completely removed from the body with no blood spill."
"It was noted there were no signs of struggle and the grass around the cow was undisturbed," investigators from the sheriff's office said.

Investigators added: "No footprints or tire tracks were noted in the area."

Ranchers also reported five similar cases involving four adult cows and one yearling in Brazos and Robertson counties.

The exact cause of death of the six livestock is unknown; each was found the same way, with "face cut along the jaw line and the tongue removed" in "straight, clean cut, with apparent precision," the sheriff's office said.

Loved that X-fles episode where the smoking man enters the sewers in Dallas Texas in the 1960s...inferring he was the second gunman on the knoll? But, They had him shooting up from sewer roadside cap with a remington 760 semi-automatic rifle (.30-06?) ,not the Remington pump 760...

RyR, sounds like a cauterising laser/heat beam device that make precise bloodless cuts...alien for sure...

Growing up in this small town, we used to go out spotlighting critters after copious amounts of Alcohol... one night we were out on a country road, a buddy of mine says stop the car, roll those headlights up and to the right.. he/we seen a set of eye's shining through this bush, he pulls out his lever action 30/30 lays it across the hood, we're all thinking a deer? FUGG NO he blasts a 1300 lb cow in a farmers pastor... we're 4 of us, riding in a 73 Newport... 3-4 miles from home on a country road with potholes... needless to say, the cow fit in the trunk, the tail pipe and back bumper barely survived the drive back into town.d'oh! We didn't go spotlighting anymore after that episode and years later confessed to the farmer about the situation, a Veteran himself... he said he always wondered what happened to his Heffer!!!
