after reading a critical write-up about a bad cigar experience elsewhere in these forums, these are not isolated events...

Here is a thread for BOTL's to unload their suppressed experiences with unsmokeable rolls of organic matter passed off as cigars.

One such abomination was an unnamed thin churchill with a pale/light blue cloth ribbon band, sold here in bundles for about $20. Smoked about a third of one before I ditched it. Tried another a few days later, and ditched it after about 5-6 puffs. Don't remember the name attached to those monstrosities ...sold here about 10-11 years ago...

ashamed to admit that I donated the rest of the bundle to an OpFTH fundraiser, for shipment to the sandbox...

I sent Carson come Gurkahs and they almost killed him. He quit smoking cigars shortly after that. YMMV.

Oliva Serie V! I mean, I guess they're ok if you like a taste combination of boiled liver, earwax, and Lemon Fresh Pledge.

Actually, the worst cigar I ever had was a Cuba Libre (not the new ones) that I bought off here almost 20 years ago. They came in a Cuban flag decorated type of cardboard box. Maduro churchills. Absolutely unsmokable. They make the new Cubra Libre's look like Davidoffs.

Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970. Started off ok but about halfway through it tasted like smoking an ashtray. Similar to a cigar that’s been put out snd re-lit. Stopped shortly after that.

I like it when the historian gives us some new reading material.

I just had a Moontrance that’s been sitting around here for a while. I was expecting something kind of mild and sweet but it was harsh and flavorless. I really hated it. I think I have one or two more so maybe I just got a clunker ( is that possible?) and another will be better

Victor Sinclair Vintage something or other. Half had asbestos wrappers and the other half were tighter than a crabs azz

This was prior to some kindly FOGs showing me the road to financial ruin

Many years ago I purchased a bundle of Poros Indios Viejo from here. The bundle was wrapped in burlap. I should have known better than to try and smoke them because when I broke the cellophane holding the bundle, the stench of raw wet burlap was rather strong. I let them rest for a few weeks before lighting one. The rotten burlap had invaded the cigar and made them unsmokable - not that the cigar ever was. I can still recall the stench now like it happened yesterday.

Life is too short to smoke cheap internet cigars---

When I was a Freshman in h.s., one of my classmates signed my yearbook with:

You better stop
Calling me a Wop
Or I'm gonna slip
And call you a Nip

I thought it was funny as h-e-l-l! LOL

But for the record, I never called him a "Wop" as I had never heard the term until I went to high school so didn't even know what it meant.
