Have been using Bernzomatic Butane bought from Lowes - Home Depot since forever. Never did I have an issue with it clogging my lighters. In fact, I bet most of that third-party likely Third World country made private labeled butane which claims to be more pure than the Virgin Mary are likely more prone to clog the living beejesus out of your lighters.
As always, snarky comments welcome!

Morton salt costs about twice as much as the unknown/store brand, so I somewhat agree tho I think SOB is closer, but still too high and his PM box is still full.

Nothing wrong with making sure it's clean before sticking it in.

You need to buy in bulk to bring the cost down. I actually buy Morton salt 20 tons at a time about 2x a month on average.

OK, not for personal use, but I do. You take a brine slurry and run it through some electrically charged plates and it creates a mixed oxidant (peroxide/bleach combo)
We feed about 7k gallons per day, therefore we run through a lot of salt

Talking about the reason I go through 20 tons of Moron salt (I fully approve this name change) a month. We use it to make chemical for cooling tower treatment.

At work. Power plants use cooling towers to dump waste heat from the low pressure steam after the turbines. We use the mixed oxidant to control algae and bacterial growth in the water at the tower

No to both. Cooling towers are used for any steam turbines regardless of the heat source. I'm at a coal plant a little south of Lake Michigan

Please! I oversee cleanup of millions of gallons discharged back to the river, protecting local fish and wildlife from death by toxicity. I'm a danged environmental hero.

Across the Delaware bay Jersey has a nuclear plant. They pump directly out of the bay to cool them. Water here is basically same salinity as the ocean. Would you figure they can use the existing salt in a similar fashion ? Cause I wonder about these things. I’ve been near it in my boat but always kept a little distance because I assume it’ll make me die if I get too close

In theory, with a generating unit that would work. Probably not for long though without gunking the unit up.. We add salt to well water that's gone through an extensive iron removal process first

Keep in mind, the oxidant generation is a small part of the process, just for disinfection at the towers themselves. We switched to it to get away from bringing in truckloads of bleach on a regular basis
