I was just thinking that my order for which I was billed on Tuesday morning has still not shipped on Friday morning. Not that I need the smokes immediately but the fact that orders seemed to ship much faster not that long ago. I was reading an article by a well known cigar magazine this morning and they said the industry is experiencing a mini boom, especially with online sales. Now that may be part of the problem, along with the associated growing pains. If the products are on the shelf, a week or more to ship sounds like The Bid has not expanded their capability to match market demand. Just like the last time in the 90s, this too shall pass. I can understand having backorders because tobacco supplies must be started a few years in advance to allow for aging. That means this is a manufacturing operation very dependent on 3-5 year market forecasts. I suppose COVID messed all that up.
