toby has been with the sweet adelines for 25 + years and i can look up at the trophy shelf and see some first places in the quartet competition. if you like women's barbershop, i can look for a record by the "cracker jills" and put it on tape for you. i also have a great parody done by the "crown city four".
while i was waiting for the letters to appear, (see another post about my keyboard being ****.) i looked through my records* and found the crown city four, but not the cracker jills. i did find a copy of the "realist" from 1965 and "the melodies of jan august. let me know if you want a copy
[email protected] *record - a storge unit usually for music consisting of a round 8 10" or 12" plastic like disk, usually black in color, with a hole in the middle large enough to fit on the spindle of a "record player*"
record player - a device for producing sound from "records" (see above)it had a flat surface with a spindle in the middle that turned the records in a circle. sound was produced by draging a needle across the surface of the "record" by turning the device, with the needle inserted in a vibrating device which reproduced the sound. the turning was accomplished by the use of a clock spring, which was wound and as it unwound, the record turned in a circle.
