Welp, looks like this is the end for me. It was a good run and was fun while it lasted.
No I'm not dying, but my stash is.
Went to grab a Christmas smoke and found some mold spots on a few sticks - ones not in cello.
It looks white and powdery and wipes off easily but based on a lot of looking at pictures and reading it looks to be mold.
Hadn't been in there since about September but everything looked good then. Not sure if my beads stopped working or what.
The memory on the weather station only shows that it got up to 75 percent but who knows.
Anyway, I have about 25 or so decent sticks that are in cello and don't look to be affected.
Unfortunately pretty much anything really good was not in cello and I wouldn't really trust....
I'm just not in a place where I have the time or ability to deal with this right now even though I think they're able to be saved.
Again, nothing spectacular in there but everything has at least 10+ years of age on them, most more than that.
I really haven't bought any sticks since about 2009 so they're all older than that at a minimum.
I would send them to OpFTH but I think they need to be quarantined and watched for a bit just in case. I wouldn't want to infect someone else.
I want to send them to someone who will make an attempt to save them. The only catch is that it be a member that
has been on here over 8 years. PM me and I'll get it out.
I used to get a lot of enjoyment from this place and I wanted to say thanks to the older folks that kept me entertained
and taught me so much.
If you're leery about PMing me your address I think Chazbo, Schmitty, or some of the older folks could vouch for me.
And if you were around back then and were bombed with an OpFTH return address but a Maine postmark it was probably me...
Used to enjoy watching the fallout from those anonymous bombing runs.
Thanks again, guys. It's been a blast.
