It all depends what you're looking for, Hank. Want the wrapper front-and-center in the flavor mix? Small RG. Want the wrapper less prominent in the mix, and want a more complex set of fillers (because of the larger volume available)? Big RG.
It's also very dependent on the blend in question. Some are great only in small RG, some great only in large RG.

ACIDs are often called "the gateway cigar" to get newbies into the hobby. ACIDs and the CI Legends Drew Estate (formerly called the "Copper Label"). The copper labels are far less disgusting than the ACIDs. They're kinda like an ACID but with one-half to one-fourth (depending on your palate) the amount of Glade concentrate added, compared to the ACIDs that punch you in the tongue with that flowery crap.
Hank_The_Tank wrote:Anyone try the DE Eggs or Opus X football? Those things are pretty odd. Thoughts?
I have. Well, the egg, not the Opus X football, because all Fuente stuff is pretty much flavorless to me, and yet expensive.
Believe it or not, the Eggs are not bad. There's a natural and a maduro. Dig some money out of your sofa cushions and try one of each, if only to say you did. That's my recommendation.
I smoked my first egg (natural, because there WAS NO maduro version back then!) at a July 4 fireworks show. I was the hit of the immediate area. All the guys nearby were basically saying, "AWESOME!", especially when I got to the middle and it was putting out more smoke than a coal-fired power plant without smokestack scrubbers. Fun!
Hank_The_Tank wrote:I've seen pictures of cigars shaped like pipes, baseball bats and wine bottles. Anyone try any of these?
No I haven't. Because buying a cigar to look at, not smoke, is like buying a Ferarri to look at, not drive. IMO it's stupid and a waste of money.
And if you DO try to smoke those things, it doesn't work well. At all.
Hope this helps!
