Young whippersnappers!!!
HIllbilly, you are definitely TOOO young, but should check into the REAL wrestling history.
Memphis in the 60's and 70's had some of THE VERY BEST IN THE WORLD!!!!
Jerry JArrett, Jackie Fargo, , The Infernos, The Internes, Jerry Lawler, Sam Bass, Bearcat Brown, Burr HEad JOnes, Phil Dundee, Phil HIckerson, The Sheik, Tojo Yamamoto, Cora Combs, Peggy Patterson, Handsome Jimmy Valiant (poor old fella was singning autographs at a local Grocery store a few years ago for a little money) Austin Idol, etc, etc.
Every so often they would bring in some rarity like the World's LArgest Wrestlers, the Mcguire twins!!!
Later Bam Bam BIgelow, among others were brought to Memphis for training and to get name recognition.
Jerry Lawler has made SERIOUS money in wrestling and marketing himself.
The VERY best matches were the Women's matches, mixed matches (male/female), and the big Battle Royale's or "Hair Matches" hehe.
Lots of good memories, and some REAL HOOTS!!!
