My name is Art, been lurking around these boards for quite some time now. Taking this opportunity to introduce myself, I guess so that if/when I need to post an inflammatory opinion at least you have an idea where I am coming from LOL! I reside in Florida on the Gulf Coast in Holiday with my wife and daughter. Also have a son fresh home from the Army did his 3 tours in Iraq and 2 in Afghanistan and made it home safely now discharged, an ex-ranger. We are very proud of him and the time he served. Our daughter is 16 going on 34 like anyone else's daughter who has experienced females of this age, we are trying to live through the experience with all the love we have! LOL! Cigars are an obvious given as far as hobbies/vices/pastimes/loves go for me. I have smoked cigars for years on and off and always enjoy the camaraderie a shared stick brings among friends. A shared stick will also make friends as well, now that I ponder it. My tastes run to Torano, Partagas, Gurkha, Perdomo, and LaFloridita; Maduro's and Cameroon's. Through lurking here, I see many good honest people enjoying themselves and sharing their points of view on many amazingly far flung interests. I have watched people get roasted, prayed for, praised, and even chased! Some posts bring a tear to my eye, others fire me up, and some are relaxing to follow, while others are quite informative. Yes, some make me laugh like hell too! I guess I enjoy them all. Like others it has been an exciting year for our family; son safely home, daughter maturing into her own young lady, my job was outsourced, wife told her employers where to put the job (still smiles for the raise it cost them to keep her), landed another offer for myself, and the family will all be together home for the holidays. In the past we have lived in Westwego LA, Long Island NY, Angola NY, and have settled for Florida as home for now, we love it here. Over the years I have held a few varied jobs in very different industries and it gives me a mellow outlook on life, I'd like to enjoy it with a good cigar from here on out. Well, this is just my hello, and Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year nice to meet you speech.
May the holiday season cheer reside in your heart all year!
Sincerely,
Art

Cappa-
Thank you for the invite and I would think after the holiday season blows out we should really consider it. I know a few more people who bid here but keep the low profile who would join us as well. HOpe you enjoy that big family during the season too!
Hat-
Not familiar with charters out of New Port Richey at all. We have a friend here in the neighborhood who invites us out to fish the gulf once in a while and we do enjoy it. I am not into the technicalities of all the different rigs rods reels baits etc but I do enjoy it when I get to go.
Rick-
Thank you for the warm welcome. I know Levittown, when we lived on the island my wife's aunt lived there we were out there weekly. We lived in Wading River on the North shore about 45mi out. Beautiful place at the time. Nothing you have posted has offended me concerning the military, be assured. Each of us is fully entitled to his/her own point of view and the right to share it as well. I tend to listen to each person's viewpoint, as regardless of agreement there is always something to learn if we would just patiently listen.
Dan-
Thanks for the greeting it is appreciated. Love the name ;)
Pablo-
That is perhaps the longest one liner I have seen you post in a while! I am honored. Sports holds no interest for me unfortunately, but surely we will meet on a mutually interesting topic somewhere.
THL-
Thank you for the welcome.

Should we herf, and surely we will, you will surely be included!

Thank you all for a warm welcome to a cozy place. I will show my son the forum when he and his fiance' arrive for Christmas, I know he will appreciate the thanks and good wishes. We do share cigars as well.

Sincerely,
Art

Acrouse thanks for the post. I have a feeling there a more poeple out there lurking that anyone knows. Thank your son for me, I was that age when nam was on and I so happy that even poeple that disagree with Bush's position don't transfer that to our military. The best thing about teenagers is that they continue to get older, they do really. Hoping the new year is great and have a great time with your family this holiday season.

Welcome!!! I grew up in your area. I lived in Holiday Lakes Estates for 5 years then moved to New Port Richey. Now, obviously, I reside in sunny (sarcastic) PA!

Hope you like the boards!
