Hey Guys and Gals
Over the past few days, I have been thinking about this swiftly ending year. It has been a rollercoaster ride, with ups and downs. One of the negatives is the loss of my job. Offsetting that is the fact that this year my boss had to buy me to fire me, severance pay.
I learned about that first hand last year, and would not come back to work for her, without a contract. I now know what to expect from her. In 2 months, when she wants me to come back to work for her, she can kiss my ash. I will find something, anything to keep that from happening. I am even tempted to brush off a very dusty class A CDL, and go back on the road. I will not let her hire me again.
On a positive note, my house is paid for, my health is good, and I got to meet my daughter for the first time this summer, she is 19.
I have great friends, a loving family, and live in an area that can’t be beat. Not to mention, I have friends here on the forums that let me vent, and actually understand how a great cigar can make a mediocre day into a good one. Sure there are trolls around here, to a much less extent than other boards, due to vigorous self enforcement of the boards, usually with the charge led by Slimboli. Thanks Slim(A.K.A. LOD)
Even though the Misc. board gets a little out of hand sometimes, this is one of the friendliest boards around. Sure sometimes us FOGs sometimes seem a little gruff to newbies, but those that stick around usually figure out that it is a façade.
Thank You All,
For being one of the ups, in this rollercoaster of a year, I have had.

It has been a good year. I met several area BOTL and enjoyed many good smokes. Saw the birth of my 4th child and 3rd son. Really started smoking Habanos and drinking good coffee. I look forward to 2005.

Dave, I think you need to start your own business. You have several choices - bar/cigar lounge or restaurant. If you take up that CDL LMK when you hit St Louis.

Well,
It looks like the catering gig I just got, has made the finish of the year much sweeter. I can tell my exboss to kiss my ash in a big way.

It's hard not to choke up when you read about bad things happening to good people. I'm glad that things are starting to right themsleves and the dawn is shining bright.

Opportunities don't knock...you have to make them. It sounds like you are and I'm glad for you. I've had the nasty misfortune to work for a narcissitic masochist excuse of a human. I'm glad I got away from the ticking time bomb before it went off. I felt vindicated and satisfied in knowing that I really had tried but no matter what I did...it wasn't going to be good enough. Funny how Life rights the ship when we're in tune with the till.
